Good Day, Everyone I have applied for 3 Electrical and Computer Science MASc programs in Canada last December and was hoping I would receive at least ONE admission decision by now which unfortunately didn't happen. I was planning that upon rejection from any of the schools I have applied for, I would instantly submit an application for McMaster Univerisy and the University of Alberta whose official application deadlines are in MAY. As I am feeling I am getting rejected from all 3 programs already, I was going going to Apply for McMaster and Alberta, except that I am thinking it is pr

Hey everyone. I applied to the following MPH programs: University of Alberta, University of Saskatchewan, Lakehead and SFU. I've heard back from Saskatchewan so far (yay!) I have a BSc in Global Health. My goal is to work in Health Promotion. I'd like to have temporary placements in different parts of the world (esp. Latin America), but my permanent goal is to work in Northern Canada (I'm from ON, but I currently live in NWT). Could you share some thoughts on these different programs? UofA: specialization on Health Promotion. Saskatchewan: seems great, doesn't focus

Got mail from UofA asking me to complete GARS application, but I completed since November. Informed them and all seems fine now. Did anyone hear from them ? Spilled hot soup yesterday on myself as a result of my nerves racking from seeing a mail from UofA. how are you coping with your decision wait?

I would like to provide some information regarding the reality of getting admitted to top 5 ranked Canadian graduate schools in the Computer Science Program. I work in the field and it appears to me that many applicants are not aware of some of the basic requirements to be admitted that are not overtly stated but definitely required. Unfortunately, I am unable to reveal my university or position as I wish to remain anonymous. Most of the time, you MUST have previous degree from a top school of your country, especially for students with a degree outside of Canada/USA/UK. This is extreme

Hi everyone, I'm considering applying into the University of Alberta for Environmental and Occupational Health. For those who were admitted into the program what was your GPA? I'm just trying to understand what the competitive average is. Also, did you come straight from undergrad or did you work for a few years?

, 2017 (edited) Hi Guys! I don't know if this is the right place to put this thread in, but I couldn't find any similar thread anywhere. So here it goes! All the Masters in Computer Science people who applied in Canadian universities converge here! Share your heart out, how you're dealing with the stress of waiting it out I know it's still early days for admits and rejects but here goes my applied list: UBC, Toronto, Alberta, Western, McMaster, Ottawa, Carletom, Windsor, Lakehead Cour

The Uni of Alberta does not require Statistics or GRE for MPH. But, implying a preference for it. Please, help me with which of these would not require statics; Epidemiology, Food Safety, Global Health, Health Policy and Management, Health Promotion?

This is my first post here, so please go easy on me with the forum rules I applied to a lot of Computer science and engineering related programs in Canada, out of which UoAlberta's MSc in computing science with specialisation in Multimedia and McMaster's MEng in software engineering and virtual systems design programs were my first choices ( I'm interested in game development, graphics and HCI, so the programs seemed like a good fit ). I got accepted into the program at UoAlberta a while ago, but I'm still waiting for McMaster to give an admission verdict Since I'm an international

Hi all, I would like some assistance in deciding on whether to attend the University of British Columbia or the University of Alberta's political science PhD program. UBC has offered me 5 years of funding and a tuition waiver for all five years. On paper it looks smaller than what UofA has offered, but I got an entrance scholarship, RA position and there's the possibility of extra funding through more TA positions. UofA has offered a larger initial funding package, but I have to pay tuition out of it, they offered funding for only four years, and I cannot pick up extra TA positions to

I received an offer from U of A yesterday for a place in their MA English program, with an RAship — after sleeping on it, I accepted this afternoon. (Although Alberta was more or less my top choice of all the programs I applied to, I felt a little impulsive accepting my first offer so soon in the process. But now that I have, what a relief.) My areas of interest are rhetoric and composition and medieval studies. Any takers for the other Alberta acceptances that have been posted? Other applicants to Canadian programs? Any alumni? Best of luck to everyone on their applications.
