  1. I have similar funding packages for both and equally great advisors.
  2. My research field is Chinese history, but I am also interested in interdisciplinary approaches to cultural history. So far I have applied to and am waiting on history PhD programs with a strong interdisciplinary base, as well as East Asian studies (EALC/EALAC) programs. My previous training (undergrad, masters) was in history, and my supervisor assured me that I would still be able to be hired as a historian even if I'd graduate with an EALC degree (because I majored in history during my undergraduate and MA studies). While I am very attracted to EALC programs, which would allow me to in
  3. Hey everyone, I have applied to the MA and PhD program at Columbia MESAAS and have not heard from them. Since there are a couple of PhD acceptances on the results page, and a PhD waitlist too, wondering if anyone could claim these results, along with respective sub-disciplines? Also, has anyone heard from the department, or have any information regarding the applications this year? More results should be coming out soon, opening this thread to better collate information.
  4. Hi everyone, I see that Middle East and North African studies are kind of scattered throughout the forum, and not many people have started threads about contemporary studies. I'm very interested in Georgetown's program, and I've seen that a lot of people on here have applied and been accepted. I would be interested in seeing what it takes to get into the program with full funding, and so I'm starting this thread. Hopefully this can serve as a reference point for future applicants of this and other, comparable programs. Please type your info and stats below. Thanks and good luck! !بال
  5. I searched everywhere, but I can't find a single professor in the US that focuses on Bhutan. i want to get a graduate degree in South Asian Studies, but I want my focus to be on Bhutan. Is this impossible? Does anyone know of any universities that have someone who specializes on Bhutan?
