Hi. I currently manage an animated series production in a company in Pakistan. I want a better grounding in film and production aspects. I want to go to a grad school ASAP (deadlines are close) but I am having a hard time finding scholarships and funding for international students in art/film schools. Can anyone help? Any country is good though I prefer the US. I am interested in RIT, Pratt, SCAD, and Chicago NY. If you could mention schools with January deadlines, I would prefer that.

Hello people, I know it's kind of late to start a thread now after all the applications over for this Fall 2019. I just wanted to hear some feedbacks from people who already went through this process, or from people who are going through this process (like me). I have a degree in BFA Illustration, and I graduated from Parsons School of Design in NYC last year 2018 May. The schools I've applied are: SVA- Computer Arts Pratt- Digital Arts MICA-Illustration Practice [had an interview] FIT-Illustration Washington State University- Fine Arts RISD- Digital+Media Yale- Painting [rejected] SAIC- Communication Art [rejected] Columbia- Visual Arts I recently got rejected from SAIC and Yale, and I just had a Skye interview from MICA but, I don't think I excelled at the interview. I was nervous. If you guys are also in a status of waiting and getting rejection letters like me, how are you guys doing? And, I have a weird question. Does receiving the catalog from school mean anything? I've got a catalog from SAIC then I got a rejection letter a month later. From MICA, where I got the interview invitation, I didn't receive any catalog. And today, I received a catalog from Pratt. I know that it should mean nothing but, it just makes me anxious. Does anyone know?

Getting into grad art school (MFA)? Post bac? Grades?
melgill posted a question in Questions and Answers
Hi all, I'm receiving my BFA in creative photography next spring. My GPA isn't amazing (in my art class grades it's a 3.5) but otherwise I've had personal issues that have made school hard. I eventually want to go to grad school and hopefully post-bac up in NYC when I move next fall. Are grades the most important thing when trying to get into a grad school for art, or portfolio? What if your work is what they want but your grades are meh? I need help, thanks -
I recently received my acceptance letters from the New School in New York and SAIC- Chicago. I had applied early admission for their undergrad fashion design programs, from India. Unfortunately, I was counting on a scholarship and I there has been no mention of any scholarship in either of my letters. So, there are a few questions I'd love to know the answers to- 1. Do the scholarship applicants get to know if they've received anything after the regular applications have been processed as well? 2. I understand that as an international student on a student visa I can only work upto 20 or so hours a week, and i've been reading about work study opportunities, how are the two different, if they are? 3. Are there any art/ design scholarships that I can still apply to at this point of time that applies to international students? 4. Does the Indian Government give out scholarships? 5. Are there any places in the states where a loan can be taken for these colleges without a cosigner? 6. Are there any places in India where a loan this hefty can even be taken? I carried out my entire application process entirely on my own so any information at all from someone who may or may not have gone through the same problems would be exceedingly helpful as it would be very disappointing to have to give up an opportunity like this.

Hey all, So I'm happy beyond belief to have been admitted to one of my top choices for graduate school but I'm an idiot and got myself admitted into both programs I applied to at the institution. I applied to two MFA programs at CalArts which are ESP (Experimental Sound Practices) and Art and Technology. I'm painfully awaiting a response from Columbia but I just wanted to ask... has anyone double majored in grad school and if so how was it? I know that a plethora of programs offer you a "focus" that might be a bit different than your field of study, but I have an interest in both programs so I'm interested in the idea of trying to tackle a double major.

I am international students and have applied to 4 art schools, but I only get a respond for an interview from one of those. However, all of them, until now, has not contacted me back. I sae SVA has sent the accepted emails to some people so I emailed them to ask for my status, but they didn't reply me. I did some research and see that they inform in their school's page the result will be announced on April 1, but some people here got that email already so I am worry now. If I didn't get any acceptance, I want to know if there is any school that open for applying in other time this year. As far as I know art schools in USA seem to open for new student only in Fall semester. Thank you.
