  1. Just graduated with Psychology and Human Development bachelors degrees. Got into a developmental PhD program in the 2018 cycle but turned it down due to poor fit/funding. Starting to look at programs for the 2019 cycle and am interested in applying to some MSc programs at UK schools. Interested in Autism research and a lot of the Autism work in the UK is very interesting and progressive. Has anyone from the US applied to/attended a UK program for grad school? I'm a little lost on the timeline and the funding options. I'm also not sure if I should be looking at MSc taught or research
  2. Hello Everyone! Can those of you with ABA experience elaborate on whether or not it helped you to get into a program. Can you share what schools you got into or what schools consider applicants with ABA experience? I understand a lot goes into an application (GPA, GRE score, etc) but I was told by a professor that ABA experience does not matter at all. I have heard otherwise on this forum and would love to get your opinion. Is there anyone who feels ABA experience was a major factor that helped them get into a program?
  3. Hi, I'm interested in applying this December for a PhD Clinical Psychology program for Fall 2018. I have a few questions regarding how to know what schools to apply to and determining what schools are schools I would be able to get into. My background: Behavioral Neuroscience major and computer science minor at Northeastern University graduating in May 2018, 3.5 overall GPA, 3.67 behavioral neuroscience GPA, and 3.75 Psychology GPA.   5. Hey all. I need some help deciding. I've been admitted into UC Berkeley and SFSU's Joint PhD program in Special Education as well as the Harvard Graduate School of Education for an Ed.M in Specialized Studies. Both are amazing programs but two very different commitments. I believe my end goal is a Ph.D., and the Berkeley/SFSU program is a wonderful one for my research interests and needs. However, I wasn't eligible to many PhD programs this time around since I didn't have a masters, and am wondering if it's worth taking a year to do the Harvard program so that I would be eligible for more PhDs
  6. Has anyone had an autistic student in their classes? Do you have any suggestions for how I might better teach a student with Autism? They have an assistant with them, so I imagine they will be able to assist me as well. I was only able to meet her in passing as I had to leave for another class. BTW, I am an undergrad doing the job of a TA teaching breakout sessions for a General Psychology class. This is my second semester teaching these sessions but the first time I've had a student with Autism. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.
  7. Hi MSW students and grads! I'm going to apply for MSW programs next fall (for entry in fall 2013), and I would like your experiences with the application process. I've read several threads on applicant stats and I'm becoming very doubtful that I should apply next year. Here are my stats: School -3.25 community college gpa in sociology -3.55 ucla gpa in a humanities major * The problem is that I have a lot of "W" grades on my community college transcript from classes I took before transferring to ucla and in classes I withdrew from way after I left ucla.
