  1. Hello everyone. I am wondering if anyone knows if online programs like Laurentian Universities' (I know they are having a hard time currently) Online BA in Psychology - (Honors) program could qualify for CRPO certification or at least lead to a Masters Program worth enough for CRPO certification? I know it is not on the approved list, and CRPO is not able to say without an actual application, so I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this? I have been accepted to a few Brick and Mortar Universities but my life situation is pointing towards Online Education being more suita
  2. Hey all! I have applied for the abridged bachelor's degree ( one year) of philosophy at K U Leuven . Is anyone of you familiar with the program or the institute in general ? I am interested in continuing my studies and applying to grad school , eventually. Do you think it is going to have a negative impact ,on my future applications, the fact that I won't possess a proper Bachelors ? For the next year I hope I will get into the masters( one year too) and apply for phd then . The Abridged program is pretty heavy with 64 credits and a bachelor's thesis. I have a bachelor's degree in Mathemati
  3. Hi everyone! I couldn't find any forums dedicated to BSW applications for the 2017 cycle. I thought I'd start this as a place to discuss. I graduated with a Bachelors in Criminology from SFU and have applied to several schools, including UBC, UVic, Calgary, Winnipeg, and Dalhousie. I've been accepted into UVic for the May entry but I'm waiting on the edge of my chair for the decision from the other schools. Anybody in the same boat? Please feel free to introduce yourself!
  4. I graduated with a bachelor degree in business administration in 2006 (foreign country). We don't do GPA there, but my uGPA is probably around 3.0. I worked on the family business for a while, then moved to the U.S. (husband was transferred). I didn't work for a very long time, just published a few ebooks online (in my native language). I knew I wanted to go back to school for a long time, but (not worth explaining the whole situation here) my husband wouldn't let me. Fast forward 10 years I got a divorce and enrolled in a community college to start getting core science courses. I'm halfw
  5. Hi everyone! I am an applicant for Genetic Counseling at the University of Pittsburgh. My application is officially being reviewed as of a few weeks/a month ago and I'm basically just playing the waiting game. A few stats about me: 26 years old, graduating with a BS in Biology April 2018, 3.34 GPA, 5 years pharmacy experience, GC shadowing experience, bereavement counseling volunteer, research experience, and personal GC experience. I only applied to UPitt -- kind of scary, but hoping for the best. Anyone else applying to GC programs for Fall 2018?
  6. Hi! I’m new in this forum so I hope this is the right section where to post this. Well, to put it “short”, I have a BA in Modern languages (taken in Italy) with a “minor” in art history and would like to pursue my studies in this field, going on to a MA and possibly even a PhD (I don’t know why but it really fascinates me to do any kind of research and maybe even to teach it). The problem is that during my bachelor I only took monographic courses which gave me no general view on art history: I took a 1850-1950 art history module, one about Caravaggio, another one on Flemish art (1350-1650
  7. Hi guys, I am in the middle of a crisis. I just finished my degree in journalism in London, but actually I want to study literature: I got a place for a master's degree in comparative literature at UCL, so a very good uni, but I am now thinking of refusing that and go to Lausanne and start another bachelor, in Italian, French and Spanish literature. Ultimately, I want to become a lecturer at university level. So my question is: can I still get into teaching (after a PhD), even if my bachelor is not in literature, or do I really need that qualification? Is it really worth changing?
  8. Hey all! So I'll be doing an undergrad thesis for the next academic year. I'll spend this summer (four months) collecting the data needed and getting a general head start. (This is lab based.) I've also been invited to do a research project for the next academic year. It's a full year course. It's not lab-based, but instead involves bioinformatics. I've already said yes to the thesis. On the other hand, I don't want to say no to the second research project because it involves bioinformatics - something that I've been hoping to learn about for ages! With a professor's supervision, I
  9. Hi everybody, I got a little complicated question, but I'll try to make it as clear as possible. For my thesis I am doing research on the impact of the shifts within GOLD classifications on the quality of life of COPD patients. The dependent variable is the quality of life and the independent variable is the GOLD classification. I only look at the GOLD 2011 and the GOLD 2015 classification, with the GOLD classification as a categorical variable: GOLD A, B, C and D. One of my sub-questions I have difficulties with is: 'To what extent does the quality of life change in the GOLD 2011 and GOLD 20
