  1. Hi all, I'm deciding between Columbia's Masters of Science in Business Analytics and University of Michigan's Masters of Science in Data Science program. Since they are in different industries, I'm very conflicted. I got waitlisted from NYU and UW Data Science, got accepted to Cornell's MPS in Applied Statistics (Data Science), ORIE at Cornell Tech, and Georgetown Analytics. Still waiting from Brown, PENN, LSE Data Science. Economics major and Statistics minor at a top 3 liberal arts college, with some cs background. I think my end goal is working as a data scientist at a consulting/finance firm, but I'm open to other data science roles. Not interested in PhD. I was leaning towards Michigan because of technical complexity, so I'll have a wide variety of career options, but everyone's telling me to choose Columbia because of its name value, resources, and geographical advantage (i.e. recruiting and networking). I have a week to decide - any advice/input would be appreciated!!! Thank you!
  2. Hello everyone, I know these are both relatively new programs, but I was wondering if anyone had information on the MS in Business Analytics at UCSD and UCI. I just got accepted to both of these programs and am having a hard time deciding between the two. Both programs are super similar based on the information provided on the website, but I am leaning towards UCSD based on the location and reputation of the school in general. If anyone had some opinions on the programs, that would be great! edit: If there is no information on the specific program, some sort of information on graduate life at either school is also appreciated.
  3. Hi Everyone, I have been admitted into UT Austin's MSBA and Duke's MQM program but I'm unable to decide which one would be better. Any thoughts?
  4. Hi guys. I know this might seem a little too soon as I have barely seen any other discussions happening on Fall 2020. But I have finally narrowed down to this course and I wanted to see if anyone else has started to shortlist schools for MS Business Analytics/MS Analytics. For now, I have referred to the QS ranking list to see which universities would be a good fit for my profile. Please do share your progress on this post. Let us all get through this nerve wracking one year together!
  5. I have already got accepted by Imperial and been invited for an interview by LBS. 1.Imperial Msc Business Analytics - ranked 2nd in 2019 business analytics and has been here for quite some time now https://www.imperial.ac.uk/business-school/programmes/msc-business-analytics/ 2. LBS Master in Analytics and Management - first batch in 2019 with the LBS name https://www.london.edu/programmes/masters-courses/masters-in-analytics-and-management Imperial has been around for quite some time now, while LBS has just started this year. The course at LBS sounds interesting to me with the analytics and management cores together. I'm aiming to land myself in either tech or consulting. Which one would you choose?

  7. What do you think about scope and future of business analytics in India? Here is an article I found on Analyttica blog when searching on Google. https://www.analyttica.com/scope-and-future-of-business-analytics-in-india/
  8. Columbia MSBA (M.S Business Analytics) is a new program and I received an offer for admission next fall. I am going to attend however it is the first cohort of the program. Was wondering if anyone knew anything about the program. Also my end goal is to get a job as a data scientist or a data engineer. Not sure if thats possible with a BA degree but the course curriculum seems highly technical. Would love some honest opinions about the program. https://msba.engineering.columbia.edu/ https://msba.engineering.columbia.edu/content/curriculum
  9. Got admitted to this program in Feb and I am pretty much likely to go! Anyone who is admitted as well?

  11. Hi, Grads. I am an applicant for phd program of business school and my major includes 1) business analytics, 2) MIS and 3) Management Science or Quantitative methods. My GRE score is V - 152, Q - 164, AW - 4.0 and my dream schools are U of Washington, U of Pittsburgh, U of Iowa and U of Western Ontario. As a matter of fact, these schools are outside top 30 except U of Washington and most of the schools I am applying to range from 50 ~ 100. As far as I searched, I found from the websites that the required GRE score from my future majors are slightly lower than those of Marketing, OBHR and Management. How do you evaluate my GRE score? I am worrying about being screened from the first stage due to my insufficient GRE score. Thank you for your answers in advance.

  15. Based off of those who have been accepted or denied, I'm looking for a rough estimate of my chances at acceptance into a Data Science/Analytics program. A consensus may indicate whether or not I should invest in hedging my opportunities with alternative paths for the upcoming semester. Here is my profile: Undergrad: Bachelor's of Science in Finance in 2008 from local university (ranked 100+) 3.87 overall GPA 3.94 Major GPA with top honors (and an award) Work experience: Past 4 years working in Business Intelligence Proficient in SQL 2 years of prior business experience Internship (in compliance) from a highly regarded investment bank. GRE: 313 159 V 154 Q 4.5 AWA Concerns: I don't have a CS, Engineering, or pure Math background My undergrad GPA was from 8 years ago, my Quant GRE score was from this month I don't have any Calc coursework and only one basic Stats course (willing to take concurrently if possible) Places I'd like to apply: Rutgers Stevens Institute of Technology New Jersey Institute of Technology Fordham Any feedback is more than welcome!
  16. I am an international applicant admitted to Master of Science in Business Analytics program in UT Dallas and Business Intelligence & Analytics program in Stevens Institute of technology. Anybody can help me decide which to go and analyze the pros and cons of both two programs and school? In which one graduates have more opportunities in finding an internship related to business analytics? Thanks for your advice!
