  1. Hey all, I submitted my MSW app to CSUDH and CSULA on January 13 and have been nervously waiting ever since. I wanted to create a space where people can talk about any correspondence they receive from their programs so that we all have a timeline to reference and hopefully ease our nerves. :) This thread is open to all MSW programs in the CSU system (or any SoCal program really) to vent or inform other people. I applied for the 3-year part-time MSW program at both CSUDH and CSULA and have not received any decisions yet. I will keep you all informed as soon as I receive any info tho. Good
  2. Howdy friends, I was just accepted into CSUN's MFT program after having been waitlisted. I'm still waiting to hear back from CSULB, but if I were to get accepted, does anyone have any advice on how to decide which school? Thanks
  3. Hello everyone, this is my first time applying to graduate school, and I'm anxiously awaiting for the decisions being sent out for CSUN. I know with this whole Covid thing, I don't know if things are being done differently. All I read from my email when I submitted my application is that decisions will be sent out from 3-6 weeks or more. Are they still conducting interviews this year?? Has anyone received a request to interview? I know that this will take time, but I just really want to know if I got into CSUN! lol
  4. Haven't heard anything from any LA/OC County Cal States (CSUF, CSULA, CSULB, CSUN) so I thought I'd start this in case anyone has heard/hears anything.
  5. I sent in my application for the 2-year on-campus program, on 01/08/2019. Alright, who's waiting with me?
  6. I applied back in November to CSUF, CSUN, SDSU and CSUSM and I am trying to see if anyone has heard from these programs as far as admissions!? I’m going nuts checking my email and logins !
  7. Hi everyone, I just got an interview with CSUN for their CC/SS grad program for Fall 2019. Has anyone done an interview for that program before? There are three parts to it: individual interview, writing portion, and group interview. I am sort of nervous because I have no idea what they are going to ask. If you've done the interview before what kind of questions do they ask? Is the writing portion difficult? Any information would be super helpful! Thanks!
  8. I'm just wondering if anyone else is starting the waiting game with me for CSUN's online Master's in Communicative Disorders, Spring 2019?
  9. Has anyone been waitlisted to this particular program(CSUN Pre-SLP program) ? I just saw my admission letter and it seems that it was highly competitive this year and that the school had to waitlist many qualified individuals. So, I guess I don't feel too bad??? ://// I am ranked #8 on the waiting list. Should I apply again next year? Thanks in advance.
  10. Has anyone else been waiting to hear back from CSUN? I interviewed in March for the online MSW program!
  11. Hey all! A Facebook group was created for the CSUN MSW22 Online-20 Cohort! https://m.facebook.com/groups/975524795943969
  12. Hello Everyone, I was wondering what books you believe helped you with your studying for the GRE? Any you reccomend that helped you prepare? I keep reading reviews that some books are nothing like the exam. Also, what should I brush up on (for those of you who have taken it). What questions were the toughest? Thank you so much for you your time! ?
  13. I was wondering if anyone who is currently or finished a MSW Advanced Standing Program could give me any feedback. I will be applying to a MSW program this Fall and I'm looking into advanced standing programs. If anyone could tell me their stats(gpa,volunteering/work), if they felt the program was too fast, can you still apply for CALSWEC in the one yr program, were you able to work at all? If you weren't able to work then how did you pay for bills/housing. Also, did you have to take out any loans.
  14. I'm having a hard time figuring out how long the graduate programs are at the schools I'm applying to. The websites don't explicitly say! Can anyone tell me? Fullerton - I've heard they have a new 2 year program in addition to a longer one? Northridge - grad cafe posts have said 2-2.5 years? Long beach - their website does say it typically takes 2.5-3 years. what determines this? is it possible to be done in 2 years? Thanks for any info!
  15. I’ve just been accepted to Cal State Northridge’s Online Master’s Program for Communicative Disorders & Sciences/Speech-Language Pathology through the Tseng College. I was hoping to find out if anyone is enrolled in that program and what they think about it. I have until next Monday (Halloween) to decide. Thanks for any info you can give!
  16. ANYONE HEAR FROM CALIFORNIA STATE LONG BEACH Master of Arts in Psychological Research or MAPR???? This is the last school that I am waiting for a decision. Any information will be helpful. Thank you
  17. Please help! I am currently trying to decide between an MSW program at either CSUN or SDSU. There are a lot of pros and cons to both, but I am interested to see what those here on the forum could tell me about these programs. What should I be placing most emphasis on when deciding? What are the reputations for these schools? How are both schools in regards to preparing students for licensing? CSUN: Pros: close to home (could potentially save money by living at home); an urban generalist approach (will maybe give me a more well-rounded experience); capstone project in final yea
