  1. Hi y'all! I'm currently an undergrad senior applying for master programs for the Fall 2021 cycle. I'm interested in interdisciplinary studies combining education, psychology, and data science/statistics. Below is my profile, and I appreciate any comments/feedback/recommendations! Undergrad: a prestigious (I think?) women's liberal arts college Major: Psychology (currently doing an honor thesis), Quantitative Economics GPA: 3.99/4.0 (Psychology: 3.96 Econ: 4.0) GRE: I haven't taken GRE yet, but I hope to get a score of 325+. Coursework: Psychology: cognitive deve
  2. Hey there, I'm curious about y'alls thoughts on degrees like Columbia's QMSS and UChicago's MACSS as compared to programs like UChicago MSCAPP, and CMU Heinz MSPPM-DA. The classes seem to be really similar between both sets of programs, but I'm getting the sense that QMSS and MACSS are more suited towards people looking to go on to PHDs, does that resonate with current/former students? I'm hoping to attend a program that sets me up to be a practitioner immediately after, and don't intend on pursuing a PHD. It also seems like the MSCAPP and MSPPM-DA can be encompass more city plannin
  3. Hi! I have got an invitation for interview from University of Tübingen, Germany. The program i have applied for is Quantitative Data Science. This is my very first interview and it would be really helpful if i can get expert's suggestion. Looking forward to it. Thank you in advance.
  4. Hello, This is my first post on here so be gentle on my poor soul. Long story short, I entered college to major in business and get a minor in mathematics. For context, in high-school I was student body president of a school of 4,000 and had automatic acceptance into my top 50 state school. Not that either of those is impressive, I'm just giving context that I wasn't a complete bum. The summer before I left for college I had some "out of character behavior" as my parents put it. Unfortunately, this was a foreshadowing of what the next four years entailed. By the end of freshman year I
  5. Hello everyone, I am creating this topic for anyone struggling to choose between NYU DS and Columbia DS. I myself are struggling a lot for choosing between these two after getting accepted by both programs. Hope everyone can share some pros and cons about these two programs and help us make decisions better so people in WL can get accepted quicker.
  6. Hi all, I am debating between Stanford and NYU for the MS in data science program. Stanford obviously have a bigger name, but the course curriculum and research faculty in NYU seems to be pretty solid and with much more ML focus. No preference between tech or non-tech outcome, but do know that I want to go industry afterwards instead of academia / pursue PhD. Any thoughts? Thanks.
  7. This is my first post to this site and I'm relatively new to the whole process. I'm graduating this coming may with a BS in Applied Mathematics and a Minor in Business Administration. My GPA was a 3.6, GRE scores are Q : 168 V : 153 AWA : 5. I have applied for programs at University of Denver, Depaul, UChicago, Columbia Data Science Institute, and USF and I'm working on several more. I've gotten into USF, Denver (which i don't plan on attending) and Depaul, I've interviewed with Columbia last Wednesday but I'm aware it may take another week or so to get a decision. I was a research assistant a
  8. I just got admitted to Saarland University for their Masters in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence for the summer semester 2020, which shares some of its courses with CS. Has anybody else received an answer? Will you accept the offer? Have you applied to other schools? I am deciding on whether to start this summer semester or defer to winter and wait for answers of the other universities I applied to, since they mostly start in October.
  9. Does anyone know when the application decisions is going to be sent out? On their website, they said 4-6 weeks but on grad admission website, they said Jan.15th, 2020. Anyone knows anything? Thanks!
  10. I have admit from USC data science and NYU data science. Which one is a wise choice among these two? I am a computer science undergrad student and hence I am into more of coding and mathematics but now business analytics. Please help me in choosing one over the other. Thank you
