  1. Hi all, First time poster here. I'll be applying to programs next year, and I was wondering about PhD program stipends. Not sure what to expect and what to be looking out for. I'll be applying to a mix of programs (Clinical, School, Developmental), and I was wondering if there was a typical/standard stipend for each area. What is a competitive stipend at this time? I would really even appreciate specific school names if possible, but if you feel uncomfortable writing it here, I would appreciate a DM! THANK YOU ALL IN ADVANCE!!!
  2. To preface this; this is a rough draft SOP for one specific program. I don't really like my intro, I want that I'm adopted to be in there somewhere but idk about the rest. I also want to make sure I have a good balance between what I have done and what I want to do, so advice on that would be helpful. And lastly I want to make sure my last two paragraphs are clear enough for why I'm choosing school X and that they wrap up the paper well. As an adopted person, adoption influences my every thought, action, and interaction with my environment. From questioning my identity, to being t
  3. Just graduated with Psychology and Human Development bachelors degrees. Got into a developmental PhD program in the 2018 cycle but turned it down due to poor fit/funding. Starting to look at programs for the 2019 cycle and am interested in applying to some MSc programs at UK schools. Interested in Autism research and a lot of the Autism work in the UK is very interesting and progressive. Has anyone from the US applied to/attended a UK program for grad school? I'm a little lost on the timeline and the funding options. I'm also not sure if I should be looking at MSc taught or research
  4. Hey all, Has anyone heard anything (interview/rejection/acceptance) from the developmental PhD program at University of Washington? I haven't been contacted by this program in any capacity since I sent in my application. I didn't get an interview invite though so I assume I'm rejected, but I wanted to know if anyone else that applied has heard anything. I've been checking the results survey page regularly and nothing for developmental comes up under UW for this cycle. It would just be nice to get an idea of what's happening so I know how to move forward with my decisions/plans. I almost
  5. Developmental folks, What is your plan career wise with a Ph.D in Developmental Psychology? The field is wide/vast and I know there's no formal licensure like clinical/counseling folks (depending on program) I've always leaned towards academia and applied settings, but im curious to know what others plan to do!
  6. Hey guys! Anybody applying to clinical geropsychology phd programs or clinical programs with a mentor doing aging research? Which programs are you applying to? What about developmental psychology programs with a lifespan developmental/aging concentration? This is the area I'm looking at, and I wanted to see who else is going through a similar process!
