  1. Hello, Anyone apply to the Master of Health Informatic program at the University of Toronto or the Master of Science in eHealth program at McMaster University for the Fall 2016 semester. If so, feel free to share your statistics. Please also indicate any communication you have received from the institutions including request for interviews, acceptances, and rejections. I personally applied to both programs with a 3.35 cumulative GPA and 3.7 in my final two years with two years of work experience. My first choice will be UFT. Good luck everyone!
  2. Hello! I just graduated undergrad with a 3.70 and am taking a year off to work and study for the GRE. Has anyone been accepted to NJ or PA schools with a GPA similar to mine? What advice can you give me? I am hopefully getting a job at a rehab assistant and have a decent amount of volunteer work. Please help a fellow speechie out!

  4. Is there anyone else attending Georgia State this fall? What program?
  5. Hey guys! I saw lots of MPH forums but not one specific for epidemiology. As far as I know UofT is the only Ontario epi program that's an MPH rather than MSc, so I thought I'd make us our own discussion. I'm a fourth year Biomedical Science undergrad from University of Guelph, applying for epi programs next year. I included the schools & statuses below. My stats are a 2 year GPA of about ~3.71, experience in academic epidemiology (undergraduate thesis in population medicine), work experience in public health epi (position was health data analyst), and good reference letters (coordinator of Guelph's MPH program and a medical officer of health). However, I haven't been published yet and haven't presented at any major conferences, which I'm worried about. Toronto's MPH (epi stream) is my top choice, but judging from last year's forums I'm not expecting to hear until late april or early may, which sucks Any other epi applicants in here?? I'm getting antsy waiting to hear back. Good luck everyone! Toronto MPH Epidemiology: Under Review Western MSc Epidemiology and Biostatistics: had interview on Feb 29th, still waiting to hear back but I'm not optimistic (they wanted me to have OGS funding...) Ottawa MSc Epidemiology: Under Review Guelph MSc Epidemiology: my prof has agreed to work with me again

  11. Hey all, I decided to attend the University of Arkansas in Fall 2016. I was admitted to the Food Science program and will be working towards a Master's degree focusing on Sensory Science and Consumer Behavior. It would be great to connect with everybody who will be attending. I have never been to the area, so any information about what's good there and housing options would be great. Also, I would be down to talk housing options with anybody who wants to room together. I am currently living in Madison, Wisconsin and I'm excited for the warmer weather that awaits

    Purdue, Fall 2016

Let me get this started ... I'm starting in the Fall 2016 semester for a direct Ph.D. program in Mechanical Engineering. I'm not sure if I made the visitation funding list, but I know the dates are 3-6 Mar 2016. ... Of course I have the usual questions about housing in the area, and so I'm sure will many others. I'm looking forward to hearing from my future classmates! Cheers, Christian
  17. I just got off the waitlist for University of Northern Colorado and was accepted for their Fall 2016 program. I already made my decision for Radford a couple of weeks ago, but now I'm debating which school I should attend. I'm interested in working in the school setting with clients that have ASD or learning disabilities. Both programs have on-campus clinics, so I'm looking for a program that has a fair balance between clinical and research. I would love to hear everyone's opinions on these two programs on what you like/dislike about them, practicum placement experiences, was it easy to find a job after graduation if applicable, and your overall experience.
  18. Hi All,I have admits for MS in ECE from CMU for Spring 2017 and from NCSU for fall 2016. I want to pursue a specialization in Computer Architecture. Which of the two colleges will offer me a better opportunity, especially in terms of courses offered and considering other aspects also? From a financial point of view, I guess both will cost the same as CMU has a 3 semester program.

  21. Hello, I am currently sturying B.Sc. in Accounting and Audit in Kazakhstan. I will graduate in June 2016. The language of instruction is English. Recently I applied for the M.Sc. in Economics in Germany. However, they rejected me because my home university is not recognised in Germany as a higher education institution. The university does not have HEI accreditation. I am applying for the M.Sc. in Economics, Finance or Business for the universitites with no tuition fees for the winter semester 2016. Give me advice, please. Thank you very much.
  22. Hi all, Getting down to the wire but I am deciding between BU (epidemiology and global health) and GW (global environmental health). GW is a little more expensive as BU offered some assistance...any thoughts? Advice? Which school would set me up the best for the global health field afterwards? Thanks!
  23. Please help! I am currently trying to decide between an MSW program at either CSUN or SDSU. There are a lot of pros and cons to both, but I am interested to see what those here on the forum could tell me about these programs. What should I be placing most emphasis on when deciding? What are the reputations for these schools? How are both schools in regards to preparing students for licensing? CSUN: Pros: close to home (could potentially save money by living at home); an urban generalist approach (will maybe give me a more well-rounded experience); capstone project in final year; Los Angeles is a booming city for social work Cons: maybe the "safe" or boring option because it is close to home; maybe not ranked as high as SDSU (I am not sure about the reputations) SDSU: Pros: move to San Diego would be new and exciting; concentrations might allow me to become more of an expert in one topic Cons: Might cost most with living expenses Tuition is about the same. I have received some aid from SDSU, but I have not gotten my financial aid package from CSUN yet so it is hard to say what the final numbers will be. I would really appreciate any tips or insight that anyone could give me on CSUN and/or SDSU's programs, San Diego and Northridge in general, and simply the entire deciding process. It is a big decision, but such a hard one to make! Thank you!!
