  1. I'm applying to FAU (on campus) and FSU (distance learning) for their speech-language pathology MS degrees (I wanted to apply to more schools but for personal reasons those were the only two programs I would be able to attend, which is really stressful because all my eggs are in one, well two, baskets). While I haven't gotten any admission decisions back yet, I can't decide which school I would prefer. I know that I might not get into either or I may only get into one and then I won't have an option anyway - but I would love to hear about people's personal experiences in both of those scho
  2. I am a 27 year old female PhD student at FSU, and will be seeking two female roommates for this fall. I live in a 3 bed, 2 bath townhome on the north side of town, roughly 15 minutes from campus. Rent is $435 a month + utilities. Pets are allowed, but must be confined to the bedrooms as per the lease. If interested, please comment below or private message.
  3. I'm about to be in Gainesville, FL for the next two years after getting my MA from Georgetown in English. I'm looking into a Master's in Philosophy -- anyone have any idea whether any FL schools have decent philosophy MA or certificate programs, or maybe philosophy certificate/critical theory oriented programs in the south more generally? (AL, GA, TN, NC, SC -- but stuck with Florida for the forthcoming year). Since I didn't major in philosophy undergrad, my standards aren't ridiculously high, but I don't want to mar my CV (especially for applying to PhDs) by transitioning from Ge
  4. I need your help deciding what pre-SLP online program I should take. Right now, I've narrowed it down to 1) Longwood University 2) Florida State University Any others? Has anyone taken these programs? What online Graduate SLP Masters programs would I qualify to apply to if I take the above Pre-SLP course? Thanks!
  5. Has anyone been accepted to FSU's distance learning program and attending or currently attend? I'd like to hear more about the program and possibly get in touch with other students starting this fall!
  6. Hi all FL applicants. I have yet to hear back from anyone but FSU (Distance Learning) I got waitlisted. A lot of people have heard from USF, has anyone applied to the Suncoast program? Does anyone know when decisions will be sent for Nova, FAU, JU, etc? Thanks! Good luck to all.
  7. Hello, Hoping to hear from anyone who attends or knows about the Biostatistics program at the University of Florida. I understand they are only 6 years old or so? How competitive is their admissions at this point? Does anyone know if they offer funding for MS students? Any opinions on the overall quality of the program in general? I'm looking at other Biostats programs in the Southeast including FSU, SC, MUSC, UGA. Would I be correct in presuming that UF is the strongest and most competitive Biostat program among these? How does it compare to FSU? I'll be graduating with a BS in
  8. Hey everyone, So I am facing a pretty big decision (as I think most of us are) between some schools. To provide some context, I am a Political Science/International studies double major right now at a major public research university procrastinating on his thesis. I have been accepted to both FSU's doctoral Political Science program and UC-Irvine's doctoral Political Science/Political Psychology program for Fall 2012. Funding: FSU has offered me $17,000 for 9 months, a $3500 summer stipend, + funding for conferences and office space. I was nominated by the department for the universit
