And so it begins, GC applicants for 2019! Welcome first time applicants, applicants who didn't get interviews, multiple cycle applicants, applicants who didn't matched, and basically everyone interested in genetic counseling. In such a competitive field I think there is no such thing as starting too early!

Hey guys I thought it would be good to start a thread for people applying for genetic counseling school for Fall 2017. I am starting to prepare for the GRE and the supplemental materials of the application since I will be in the midst of finals when applications are due. I would love to talk to more people about genetic counseling school who are also applying or have applied previously. I am just now getting a list of programs that I want to apply to, which includes: Northwestern University, Emory University, University of South Carolina, Stanford University, CSU Stanislaus, Boston University, University of Michigan, and UT Houston.

Hi everyone! I am an applicant for Genetic Counseling at the University of Pittsburgh. My application is officially being reviewed as of a few weeks/a month ago and I'm basically just playing the waiting game. A few stats about me: 26 years old, graduating with a BS in Biology April 2018, 3.34 GPA, 5 years pharmacy experience, GC shadowing experience, bereavement counseling volunteer, research experience, and personal GC experience. I only applied to UPitt -- kind of scary, but hoping for the best. Anyone else applying to GC programs for Fall 2018?

Hi all, Starting this fall, I will be applying to Genetic Counseling programs. Eventually, I would like to go for my DrPH. I'm highly interested in integrating public health and genetics together and doing research based on community genetics, screening programs, and the like. I know that I don't want a Ph.D. I feel that the DrPH is much more aligned with my goals. That being said, I don't think I would be applying to DrPH programs with an MPH, just my MS in genetic counseling. Would programs still consider me?

Any other Genetic Counseling applicants out there applying for Fall 2016? I'm driving myself crazy wondering when I'll hear back from schools for interviews and hoping others are in the same boat?
