Hello everyone! I'm in the process of applying for a Graduate program which requests I submit a Statement of Purpose. This is my first time doing one so I would really appreciate any advice on how to make mine better before I submit it. If you are up for reading what I have so far please send me a PM and I'll send you a PDF of it (unless you want a .word or .Page file instead). The program I'm applying for is Aging and Neuroscience so if you happen to have any advanced education in either topic then I would especially appreciate your advice! I look forward to your help, and I appreciated you taking the time to look it over.
I submitted my application back at the early deadline and it was confirmed that all of my supporting materials and fees had come in a couple of weeks later, but I still haven’t heard anything? I applied to the gerontology concentration and they told me it’d only be about 2 to 3 weeks to hear back about a decision, but my admissions status is still listed as pending. I’ve tried to get in contact with someone to no avail lol. So it’d be nice to hear about how long you had to wait! Also, if you have estimates for how long it took to hear back from Georgia State, that’s good too!
Hello all! I'm starting a graduate program at USC in a couple weeks and I am trying to figure out how many credits is too many? So far I am taking 12 units (4 online in a subject I am familiar with). Although it has recently been brought to my attention that I only need 8 classes to complete this program. Meaning - two semesters with 4 classes would complete the program. Now I am not made of money and USC is very expensive. I'm starting to think this isn't such a bad idea. However, I am the first in my family to go to graduate school so I am a little unsure of what this program holds for me. Another one of my thoughts being - if I take 3 classes this semester and 4 classes next semester, do I really want to go back to school in the fall for one course? Not really... Also this program does not require research - only coursework. Please let me know if you think 2 on-campus classes and 2 online classes is too much for one graduate semester Best of luck to everyone starting school in the next couple weeks!
Hey everybody!! It's rare to see gerontology applicant posts so I decided to start one! USC is my dream gerontology program and I'm really anxious, nervous, nauseous, to hear my decision. I don't know of any of gerontology students so if you are a gerontology student let's network! We are a rare breed haha. We can use this to talk gerontology programs, schools, admission decisions and just help each other out through the process of graduate admissions! I have applied to USC, CSULB, CSUF, and University of La Verne. Haven't heard from USC, CSULB, or CSUF but I got accepted to La Verne for Fall 2016 Gerontology! YAY!!
