Hey all, longtime lurker here intending to apply to grad programs. I've appreciated much of the advice on this forum, so I'm hoping someone can lend me some advice on emailing grad students. I personally know one grad student at a university in which I'm interested and have already reached out to that person. While this seemed normal given that I am already acquainted with that person, I feel more hesitant to cold email grad students at other universities whose programs I would really love more info on/insight into. So, this is all to ask: are most grad students open to cold emails like this? If so, are there any specific questions that you'd recommend asking?

Hello my fellow speechies, So far, I have been accepted into Texas State university and Lamar university. I am dying to know what current grad students from each school think about their program! I know txstate is moving to round round (near Austin) which is perfect for location, but lamar's living expenses seem more reasonable. Undergraduates who have witnessed grad students in action is welcome as well! I would like to know about the clinic-is the equipment up to date, how does it function, size, etc.. Stress level-let's be real, grad school is no walk in the park! But, I interviewed with SFA and their students are in love with it and aren't racked with anxiety. (plus their clinic is DOPE!) The professors-how accessible are they? Are they enthusiastic, helpful? Research opportunities- I know both schools have an emphasis on research, but lamar seems to offer more. I also applies to UH(where I'm completing my undergrad-GO COOGS!) and SFA (had my interview-should hear back the week of March 19th) Thank you in advance!

Should I be pursuing a Master of Public Health degree if I'm not entirely sure where I want to be in public health? Would it be an issue to enter the program and then explore where I want to be in the program? Is it a common occurrence, or do people usually know what they're doing 100% when they enter the Master of Public Health program?

I was admitted to the Boston University Master of Public Health program! Just out of curiosity, are any of you still uncertain about the concentration you've chosen? Do you think you might change your concentration after completing some course work? I'm just wondering if anybody else is in the same situation as I am.
