    Horowitz Foundation Grant

Hi all, Does anyone have a successful Horowitz Foundation grant application that they would be willing to share? The word limit is killing me.
  3. I was just rejected for the OGS and I'm feeling pretty down. I thought I was a good applicant. I had a fair bit of research experience, good GPA, and my proposed masters advisor even helped me with the research proposal (I haven't officially been accepted into a program yet).My average may have been holding me back (I think I had an 82% in my 3rd year and 84% in my final year). So I'm just wondering, what do the stats of the students who win it usually look like?

GSD Financial Aid - Real Estate

Hello everyone, I hope you're all well. I am asking if anyone has anymore information on where to seek financial aid for the MDes in Real Estate and the Built Environment at Harvard's Graduate School of Design (GSD)? I have recently been admitted but unfortunately have not received any aid. It is my top choice school so I'd hate to see it slip out of my hands for lack of financial aid. I am African, Canadian & Female.

    NEGOTIATE or WIN A LOTTERY

HIIIIIII EVERYONE I GOT admitted to PENN STATE and was offered 25k for 2 years, (12,250$ per year) plus 2,500K for any internship and such, I am really grateful for the offer, but i need 100% funding in order to attend since the school's estimated cost is around 50K for one year (I am an INTERNATIONAL Student), I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO, and yes i have researched every database, website on the internet for scholarships and because of various reasons, age, work experience, country residency, major and stuff there was no suitable scholarship out there, THEREFORE, i have no choice but to TRY negotiate with the school if any of you have negotiated before, please provide me tips ANY ADVICE will DO
  6. I have two choices for masters programs: American University ( would cost me 10k over 2 years) versus columbia, GWU, UVA, and BU. The latter schools have offered no funding. What is the smarter choice if I wanted to continue pursuing a PHD? What's the smartest choice for job outlook after graduation? My gut feeling is that the actual knowledge I would acquire would be marginally different, but there is a price to pay for a name brand such as columbia. I would ideally want to work in a hedge fund as a quant in the future. Any advice would be appreciated!

MSW-- How much debt are you comfortable going into?

Hey, everyone I was recently admitted to Simmons and Smith MSW programs, but both were entirely too expensive (around 80k in debt, taking into account both scholarships and grants). I've been pretty bummed about it and now I'm worried I won't be able to pull off going to grad school in the fall, even despite getting accepted. I have also been admitted to BC and Loyola, but haven't heard back about funding for either. I'm hopeful, but still skeptical. I have read a few threads asking how much debt is too much, etc. and it seems that the general consensus is that it's a personal preference. This has made me curious. How much are you, personally, okay with going into debt for a MSW? What is your thought process to come to that conclusion? What are the ways that you expect going into that debt will be worth it in the long run? I still realize that this will end up being a personal preference, but I think it is a worthwhile conversation. I hope somebody can bring some points to light that I hadn't previously thought of.
  9. I am currently a first year Masters student in Psychological Research, and I want to apply to a PhD program in Quantitative Psychology next year. I recently heard about predoctoral graduate fellowships, and I am highly interested into applying for them (mainly Ford Foundation and NSF GRFP). However, I don't know very much information about the process (there has never been an applicant in my program), and it is unclear to me what information is accurate online. Does anyone have any advice for the application process (in psychology in particular)? Are there any great guides or websites I should be looking at? Is there a way to access past proposals that have been successful? Thanks for your help. Even basic information is helpful considering I just started looking at these today.
  10. I am currently applying for an NSERC masters scholarship which requires a research proposal. However, I am currently discussing multiple potential research projects with different professors. I can put in different potential universities for the scholarship but only one research proposal and am unsure how this works?
  11. Hey Forum, I'm currently working on the Liber Ero Fellowship and was wondering if anyone else is working on this as well? Has anyone applied for this in the past? The best of all, does anyone have a successful application they would be willing to share? Hope to hear from someone soon! J
