  1. I got admitted in both Harvard GSD Maud and MIT SMarchs Urbanism and having a hard time making decisions. For those who have experience in these schools or know anything about the academia and the field, I would extremely appreciate it if you could share some. I need some help making decisions. study environment, professors, resources, atmosphere, reputation, anything would be helpful. thanks guys
  2. Hi all, I saw that previous years, folks created forums for that year's application cycle and didn't see one for this year. I was wondering if anyone had heard anything back already or had an interview? Based on last years post, it looks like interviews were had around this time, so I wanted to know if anyone else had theirs? It would really help in letting me become depressed earlier so as to get on with my life sooner. Thanks!

  4. Hello everyone, I hope you're all well. I am asking if anyone has anymore information on where to seek financial aid for the MDes in Real Estate and the Built Environment at Harvard's Graduate School of Design (GSD)? I have recently been admitted but unfortunately have not received any aid. It is my top choice school so I'd hate to see it slip out of my hands for lack of financial aid. I am African, Canadian & Female.
  5. Here are my top choices so far: Harvard: -MDes (Technology) Carnegie Mellon University: -MDes -MS in Computational Design (partial scholarship) -MHCI Going to Harvard and taking classes at MIT (especially the Media Lab) would be a dream. I just cannot figure out where Harvard MDes will take me professionally. CMU is very transparent about the graduates' career statistics. CMU students seem to be doing well professionally and financially. Does anyone know how well Harvard MDes grads transition to industry? Also, one of my goals is to learn as much CS as possible during grad school. Also admitted to: Columbia University: MArch Rice University: MArch (full ride) TU Delft: Design for Interaction Georgia Tech: Master of Science in Architecture (Digital Design and Fabrication)
  6. Hi everyone, I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on a dual-degree at Harvard with the Graduate School of Design (GSD) for Urban Planning and the HKS' MPP or MPA. Seems like the GSD skills would be more niche, so perhaps getting more general policy skills through the MPP (negotiation, economics) would be a good complement. I know the MPA is more flexible but tends to produce more administrative/managerial positions than policy analysts. Anyone who's in the same boat or has completed the dual-degree? Is it worth the extra year to complete in exchange for having two degrees, and which program is more popular for GSD students?
