  1. Hi everyone! I am planning on applying to art history masters programs and was wondering if anyone knew the answers to the following questions: 1. Does Case Western's art history masters give a full tuition remission and stipend or just the Art History + Museum Studies masters? 2. Does Hunter College give funding? 3. Does anyone know about the prestige of UNC Chapel Hill's masters program? 4. If a school has waived the GRE does it work against me to not send it in?
  2. Hey Everyone, As I am reading all the previous threads about Hunter for Silberman School of Social Work I decided to make a thread for those applying for the fall of 2020. let me know the process, how is if for you? I submitted my application 1-31-20- recommenders still pending but anxious to see the decision already.
  3. Hello, I saw a lot of people creating these forms and answering questions about the application process. I submitted my application 1/31 I'm pretty sure the in-person interviews are canceled due to covid. If anyone has done zoom interviews, how was it? My overall GPA is 3.7/ Sociology major GPA is a 3.8. Got 2 sold recommendation, but I don't have any volunteer or other experiences. What are my chances of getting in? 😭
  4. Hi! Congratulations to all accepted students! I noticed that there's not a Facebook group or anything for those accepted and figured it might be beneficial to create a space to get a conversation going for incoming students. Any information that anyone has regarding orientation and registration dates is much appreciated. Please feel free to post questions or just say hi Looking forward to meeting you all!
  5. Greetings all!—I am a new member here and I was wondering if anybody may be able to provide advice with respect to my situation. Are mental health counseling programs very competitive—esp. compared to social work programs? I am specifically interested in CUNY-Hunter College's program but worry I don't have enough experience aside from my 5-month research stint and three years at the New York State Psychiatric Institute, as well as work at Columbia University Irving Medical Center (also as an office assistant like at NYSPI). Because I am in a very poor financial situation, I cannot afford
  6. Hi, I'm new here. I was wondering if CUNY Hunter College's Speech-Language Pathology Master's program had a second part to their interview process after the initial interview. Does anyone know what that second part is all about?
  7. I'm posting about this literally just an hour before I'm supposed to be having a phone interview for the Hunter College msw application. It was scheduled only just yesterday, I got the email asking to pick a time and I let them know I would be needing a skype interview because I currently live in Chicago. They emailed back saying I would have to just have a phone interview and picked this time for today. I was really shocked because I thought they only did in-person and Skype group interviews and hadn't ever read anything here or anywhere else about phone interviews. I'm unsure if it's a solo
  8. Hi everyone, I've recently discovered this forum and have been obsessed with it for days, which is good and bad because I learn so many useful things or see reassuring advice, but I also worry about getting to excited and hopeful and having my heart broken by being rejected. I am an undergraduate senior at the University of Illinois at Chicago. My major is psychology, minor is sociology and I've applied to 5 MSW programs for the fall of 2018. UIC's Jane Addams College of Social Work, Depaul University, Loyola University Chicago, the Institute for Clinical Social Work, and lastly the
  9. Hey everyone! I've been scrolling through various forums on here for a couple weeks now, but this is my first post! I graduated a year ago from Northern Arizona University with my BSW and a minor in sociology. Attending grad school has been on my mind a lot over the past few months and I've finally decided to pursue an MSW in New York City through an advanced standing program in Fall 2018. I intend to apply to Columbia, NYU, Fordham, and Hunter with Columbia being with current top choice. I'm flying to New York in August to attend prospective student events and see the various campu
  10. Hey everyone just got an email inviting me to a group interview for MSW program. Soooo nervous anyone can help out with what to expect ? I saw a couple of posts but they are so dated wanted to see some recent experiences. Thanks so much!
  11. Hi everyone, If you were rejected by the Silberman School of Social Work at CUNY Hunter College then please send us a message or email Ananemos1@gmail.com . Please specify your skin color and the year that you were rejected so that we can give you important information about the program. Thank you.
  12. Hi, I just discovered this site, so I will be here for the foreseeable future driving myself nuts as I wait and wait and wait on notifications. I applied to four creative writing programs in NYC: CCNY, Hunter, Brooklyn, New School. I got into New School, though it's looking like a lot of people did - it's not nearly as selective as one would think. My question is: has anyone heard back from Hunter? Interview? Acceptance? Rejection? Anything. It's my first choice, and the waiting is killing me. Thanks.
  13. Hi All, I applied to Hunter College's OYR MSW Program on February 3rd and my application was officially submitted to Admissions on February 10th. I am freaking out!! I had my whole team (my supervisor, colleagues, and Best Friends) help me with this application, in particular my personal statement and my recommendations. My anxiety is extremely high right now because although I have a few years of experience in their other two tracks, I applied for their clinical track. More so because I feel that with a clinical track degree, I can actually begin to help the hundreds of youth that come i
