Hello everyone! I saw that no one started the 2021 thread yet so I decided to make one. Hopefully we can all help to alleviate the pressure we feel from the wait. I submitted on the 19th of January and was completed on the 20th. Haven't heard back yet because its too early. Has anyone submitted their app and hear back yet!? Best of luck yall!

Hi, does anyone know if Hunter has sent out all of their acceptances? I applied for the OYR and have yet to hear back. My application went from submitted to "pending program decision" a few days ago.

I am currently deliberating between Art History MA programs at Hunter and Christie's Education... I have been accepted to both and am totally torn between the two. My hesitation with Christie's is the cost! I really like the way their program is designed (unlike Hunter's general Art Hist. MA, it is very hands on and focused only on Modern/Contemporary Art and the Market) but it just seems to wayyyy too much money. Hunter is affordable and great but such a traditional program that it doesn't exactly carry the same allure as Christie's... Does anyone have any overwhelming pros/cons for either pr

Hi everyone, i recently got into hunter's grad school for social work. I had a couple of basic questions if anyone can help. how is the area around the school? how is the coursework/workload? where do they send you for the fieldwork? how are the class schedules? is it frustrating signing up for the classes? what do you think of the professors? im just curious about a lot but i am excited to be going. I've heard a lot of great things overall but i just wanted to know some specifics. thanks!!

Hi guys, just wondering if anyone has heard from or gotten an interview at Hunter College yet. I've heard from every other CUNY I applied to except them, so I'm a little worried. Please let me know if you have or haven't! Thank you:-)

I'm posting about this literally just an hour before I'm supposed to be having a phone interview for the Hunter College msw application. It was scheduled only just yesterday, I got the email asking to pick a time and I let them know I would be needing a skype interview because I currently live in Chicago. They emailed back saying I would have to just have a phone interview and picked this time for today. I was really shocked because I thought they only did in-person and Skype group interviews and hadn't ever read anything here or anywhere else about phone interviews. I'm unsure if it's a solo

Hi there! Would anyone have any insights/information on health insurance while enrolled in Hunter's MSW program? The plan options for the NY State of Health are $400 - 500 per month, I'm wondering if there's a more affordable way.

Hello! I'm hoping someone out there can help me make a solid decision about which graduate program to enroll in. I was recently offered admission into these two programs: University of Chicago, MA, Latin American & Caribbean Studies (Art History focus); 1 year program; ~8 students Hunter College CUNY, MA, Art History (Latin American focus); ~2 year program; ~100 students; part-time or full-time I hope to (eventually) pursue a fully-funded PhD program in Latin American art history. I have contacted professors at the schools I hope to apply to for PhD programs a

Hi Wassup guys! Happy Friday or (or Happy Day)! I hope everyone is enjoying their day. Its acceptance letter season and I am so glad the applying stage is over. Even more happy that I got accepted into the Fordham, Columbia, and Hunter/Bank Street Program Although I am very excited about the prospects of attending any of these programs, I am leaning towards Columbia. However, I have concerns about the costs and loans. Is there a way to leverage my financial aid packages to lower the costs? Or any other approaches to help me lower the costs and loans? Please let

Hi. I applied CCA, SFAI only two schools and I got accepted in CCA and SFAI both in MFA Film. Please read my stupid history and help me out guys I have bachelor's degree in Fine Art Painting outside of US, however, my portfolios are kind of filled with videos. I wanted to go for MFA in film so that I can have the opportunity to deeply engage in video/film field and stuff, but anyways I think I want to make videos in the context of art, not like getting into a film industry as a part... I should have done research about more schools carefully cause I kind of wasted last fall - winter

Can not having the right references weaken your application? If the graduate application asks for references or recommendations from certain faculty members from the undergraduate school you attended but you don't use these references can this weaken your application?

I'm considering applying to CUNY Hunter MSW Advanced Standing Program. Who do I give my two core competency forms to fill out? Is it my field instructor or my field supervisor. I believe my field supervisor at the placement will know more about my performance and skills since we worked together. But please give me feedback if your pass applicant to this program! Thanks!

Hey, I have recently applied to CUNY Hunter, SUNY Stony Brook and Adelphi for my masters in social work. I am having a really hard choosing which school would be the best to choose. I think I have narrowed it down to CUNY Hunter and SUNY Stony Brook just because of Adelphi's high tuition price. I would like to know more peoples reviews on all three programs though. I've been having a really hard time comparing Stony Brook to Hunter, so any reviews would be helpful.

I am in between two schools for masters in psychology, Hunter College and Teachers College Columbia. What is the overall reputation of these schools? Would Teachers College give me more of an advantage than Hunter? I have heard mixed reviews from current students from both schools which worries me. I feel outside NY, Hunter's name isn't as recognizable as Columbia. However, Hunter seems to offer more opportunities for research. Any advice helps! Thank you!

Just got accepted into Hunter and Teachers College for MA in psychology! In your opinion what program is better? I have my bachelors in psych but little research experience, hence the desire for a masters. My overall goal is to be a clinical psychologist focusing on neuropsych. Both schools are great but I've heard mixed reviews about both programs. Anything helps thank you!!

I just called the CUNY Hunter SLP & Audiology Department to ask what their timeline is for sending out remaining results since the April 15 deadline is rapidly approaching. She told me they are done with interviews, don't accept without interviews and they don't do a waitlist. If those that are accepted don't accept, they just don't fill those seats. No idea if this is true for the other CUNYs, though I did a quick check of the results page from past years and I don't see any waitlist notifications posted for either of the two I applied to (Hunter and Brooklyn). Someone on here recen

Does anyone know if CUNY Hunter is conducting interviews this year? I know they did last year but didn't in 2015. I've seen some interview requests on the results page for CUNY Queens and CUNY Brooklyn but nothing for Hunter yet (though I noticed no one posted on the results page for Hunter interviews last year either so...). I called the general grad admissions office and they weren't sure and directed me to the SLP department. Have called the department number twice and no one answers.

Hi all new and excited to be here I recently applied to several social work grad schools, a very nerve-wracking and exciting process. I successfully got an interview invitation with the director of the Infant & Family Development and Early Intervention Program at Bank Street. I was wondering if any Redditors here may share some tips and tricks to get into this program? Would love to hear social work (children focused) career insight and other general grad school application tips as well, thanks!

Hey Guys, I remember being in undergrad and sometimes feeling so distant from my peers because I was an international student. Well, here I am again on this voyage about to feel even weirder, this time as a grad student. I thought that we should have a space where we could be able to share experiences, answer questions, give advice, or just a space where you say what makes you feel ok about yourself. Good luck everyone! Disclaimer: I worked with International Services during my undergrad but this does not make me an immigration official. Although I can give my opinion on certain si

I am curious as to why people choose the programs they chose. What are the strengths and offerings of each program that makes them so attractive to you? One thing in my research I have a tuff time finding out is why people are applying to the programs they are applying to. For instance, I want to apply to Columbia because of their faculty mentorship to students. Each student are teamed up with 2 mentors who regularly visit your studio, and go onto outings together with. A friend of mine who attended the program even curated a show with one of her mentors. For RISD, I have read that they foc
