  1. GRE: 161 VR, 150 QR, 4.5 AW GPA: 3.83 I have one internship and one fellowship under my belt. I've been on the president's honor list for 5/6 semesters. I'm currently doing a one year seminary program at a small institute to learn Arabic, Fiqh, Hadith, and Qur'an studies. What are my chances for the UCLA Islamic Studies Masters program? Are there any other masters programs for Islamic studies I should apply to?
  2. I applied to quite a few Islamic studies programs, most having their application deadlines on December 15, it is now passed mid-January when should I expect hearing back from schools? I have received no emails as of yet...
  3. Hi, first time posting Came across mention of a GradCafe on UK-based The Students Room. I've applied for MA History, SOAS and MSc Islamic Studies & History, Oxford and (soon) MSc in Empires, Colonialism, and Globalisation, LSE. I am also a SOAS graduate in BA Arabic from ten years back but still use their library as an alumnus frequently. Then seeing the word "Fall" when signing up, I recognised this is a US-based forum (and consequently there is a red line under "recognised" as I write). In any case some good general info here on research, academia and the like. Good t
  4. I am completing my MA in religious studies (Islamic studies) this December and have nearly everything ready in regards to applying to PhD programs (religion, middle eastern, near eastern), however I have had some health related setbacks and was unable to take the GRE in time for applications this cycle, I was wondering do any schools have application cycles in the Spring? I would prefer not to wait an entire year to apply in December 2017... Please let me know
  5. Can we create a list of MA and PhD Islamic Studies programs by commenting your own schools here or links for general information? I am a current MA student at Rutgers University in the Islamic Studies program. Link: http://religion.rutgers.edu/graduate/program-information Rutgers MA program is good because it allows you for a year of exchange study at Princeton University.
