  1. Has anyone heard back from the American Academy in Rome (AAR) about acceptance/ rejection decisions re: the 2020 Rome Prize? The interviews for the "Humanities" applicants were supposed to be on February 24 but I never heard anything. Probably bad news... Any insight would be appreciated. Even timelines from last year? Thanks!
  2. I applied for early notification for SAIS Europe and received my acceptance letter right before the holidays. However, I still haven’t received notification about financial aid, and my letter didn’t give me a deadline to accept the offer. A current student told me that SAIS doesn’t send out notifications until March, but some apparently have already received their financial aid packages with an acceptance deadline. Has anyone been accepted and is still waiting to hear from the financial aid office?
  3. Hey everyone, I'm hoping to get some insight or guidance from those of you who either are, or have been, in my position. I will attempt not to drone on endlessly with this, so please hang in there! I finished my BA in Classics in Chicago last year, and have just about (two more weeks) finished the Post-Bacc Program in Classics at UCLA (did well, feel confident in some strong letters of recommendation). I will be applying to PhD programs this fall. From the get-go, I always intended on applying solely to Classics programs, but the Post-Bacc Program has served me very well in tailoring my resear
  4. Can anyone recommend an intensive, rigorous summer Italian course, preferably located in Italy? This summer I want to improve my spoken and written Italian (currently at the A2 level) but most language schools in Italy are geared towards retirees and tourists... not exactly what I'm looking for!
  5. I already picked up my Italian student visa and my German student visa is also approved, can I pick up my German visa too, because Italy was my plan B and I wasn't sure if I can get German visa or not? Answer Request▾
  6. Hello, all! I am an Art Historian seeking advice from others who have studied, or focus in, the Italian language. Can anyone recommend an intensive, rigorous summer Italian course, preferably located in Italy? This summer I want to improve my spoken and written Italian (currently at the A2 level) but most language schools in Italy are geared towards retirees and tourists... I've heard the five-week course at the University of Bologna is strong, but have not been able to find reviews online.

  8. Today is February 15th, the day that the Peggy Guggenheim Collection is supposed to let us all know about our potential internships between May and December. I know from reading past forums that they often take over a month to send out the decision emails, I really hope that's not the case again this year. I applied for the month of May and I'm from Ottawa, Canada. If anyone hears anything, please post!
