  1. Hello everyone, Did anyone hear anything from Kaust yet? I applied 16th of December, got my 2 rounds of interviews. On the last one they said that I will be contacted within couple of weeks, but I it is already passed 2month mark. I am devastated.
  2. Already posited this as a response in another topic but also positing here for a wider audience. I applied for a masters in environmental engineering at KAUST in the Nov round (2020) and transferred departments to marine science. It was a really long time, 2/3 months between my academic and personal interview, and had my final personal interview over a month ago, also received my undergrad results a couple of weeks ago. I have just been informed my application has been deferred for consideration until fall 2022, next year. This was a surprise since it is such short notice (the fall term onboarding starts 15th Aug) and my application has dragged on for so long - largely their fault. My main concern is that I have not even received an offer for next year, despite completing all the interview stages, so I still do not know. I have sent an email to the admissions department with my concerns, but just wondering if anyone else has had this? At the very least I would have thought I would have got an offer/rejection even if its for next year since the only thing left to do on their part is to decide if I got in or not and they've had over a month to do that after I had my personal interview. I thought both interviews went well and all the people I spoke to basically made it sound like I was getting in, academic interviewer saying I should contact him to discuss thesis topic after the final stages, personal interviewers saying how they want more people from the UK to apply, etc. Seems a very strange move for KAUST and it has thrown all my potential plans into disarray since it is very hard to do anything meaningful career or experience-wise in a year and there's still the risk I get rejected next year.
  3. Hey guys! I wanted to start this forum for anyone who has applied for the KAUST Spring 2020 admissions. Here we can discuss any updates and questions we all have. I have applied for a PhD in Chemical Engineering, and I had one technical interview so far. How is your application going? And can anyone provide us with information on how long the admissions office takes to get back to you after the first interview? Thanks! And good luck to everyone!
  4. Since there is no forum for KAUST admissions for Fall 2019, I decided to open one. I applied on october 13th, still no response. Best!
  5. Hello, everyone. I applied for KAUST 2019 fall Bioscience in the third round(1st December). I got a personal interview on 13th March and until now I haven't got any reply. Does anyone the same round with me have any news to share? Or if you are fourth round and get any update? Thanks for sharing.
  6. How is the admission rate of KAUST(King Abdullah University of Science and Technology)/What percentage of the applicants are admitted into KAUST?
  7. Hello! Does anyone receive the email about the interview? My interview was supposed to be on Jan 18th, but the office of admission emailed me they have to reschedule my interview. Does anyone have the same situation?
  8. Hello! Anyone received interview email from KAUST for Fall 2018 2nd round application?
  9. I am applying to KAUST's electrical engineering master's program. I had my technical interview through Skype. I want to share what it was like to help out anyone wishing to apply to KAUST. You will be contacted for the technical interview via email. The email will include a list of topics to study and resources (books and links to material). The four main topics are: calculus, signals and systems, linear algebra, and probability. During the interview, the interviewer will send you pdf documents wth questions pertaining to each topic in them. For some topics, you will be asked to explain how you would solve the given problems to the interviewer, without actually solving them. For other topics, you will be given 15 minutes to solve the given questions after which you tell your answers to the interviewer. You may be asked additional related questions. The interviewer is trying to test the extent of your understanding. In my case, the calculus and signals and systems were discussion type questions whereas the other two topics were done in the 15-minute answer and tell format. Overall, it wasn't hard, but you should study well enough to be able to solve simple problems related to basic concepts. I wish everyone all the best
  10. Hey everyone! Is there anyone from KAUST MS Bioscience program who can give me a few pointers on the admission process and how I can basically improve my chances of getting there? I'm in my senior year of Applied Biosciences at NUST, in Pakistan, so I was looking around for places to get admission for a post grad degree, and I'm really psyched out about KAUST. Obsessively reading the FAQs on their website and scouring every webpage they have isn't helping matters much however, so I decided to head over here. I have a 3.88/4 cGPA, I'm pretty much at the top of my class (which the professors I'm planning to ask for LORs will collaborate) and I think I'm good enough at English that I can be confident about TOEFL/IELTS even though I haven't given them yet. I'm also planning to give the GRE this fall as well. I'm also going to be starting my undergrad research project, so I won't have much of a 'research experience' beyond that and a mini-project about nanoparticles that won me and my team the Biotechnology category at one of our universities entrepreneurship and innovation competitions. So, what are my chances, and what can I do to make them better? I await with bated breath... =)
