  1. I applied in my senior year without hope as my stats weren't good, but I tried to take a shot to gain some experience. I applied to about 4 schools for chemistry and biochemistry programs and got all rejects, which I wasn't too surprised since I wasn't finished taking major courses. I'm not too proud of my stats: 3.2 GPA, 3.1 major GPA, 143/154/4.0 GRE, 2.5 years of research experience (both experiences in synthesis and biochemistry research), and no pub. I graduated already, and I'm trying to apply again this upcoming cycle around October-December. I have about 6-8 months before submitting my
  2. I welcome all to post their admission threads here for PhD Fall 2019 applications.
  3. I'm currently doing my Bachelor's (BTech. - Final year) in Biotechnology in Manipal Institute of Technology, India. I'm quite keen on applying for graduate programs later this year, colleges like UCB, UPenn, Columbia, UCSD, Cornell and also considering Yale, MIT, Stanford and the works. I will be giving my GRE exam shortly and also have completed a 2 month internships in a pharmaceutical company and a premier university (Indian Institute of Tech) in India. I will also be interning from January 2017 at the Centre of Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB, H
  4. Hey everyone, I'm having a little dilemma about whether to enroll in a PhD program or not. In some ways I believe I must and in other ways I am wondering if I really need to do it. It's just such a long road that I don't want to waste time on if I don't need to. So here is my background: I have a BS in chemistry from a very good public US university. I performed undergraduate research there for about 1.5 years but didn't really accomplish anything significant (was just to get exposed). After my junior year, I did a summer research fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering
