  1. Good Day, Everyone I have applied for 3 Electrical and Computer Science MASc programs in Canada last December and was hoping I would receive at least ONE admission decision by now which unfortunately didn't happen. I was planning that upon rejection from any of the schools I have applied for, I would instantly submit an application for McMaster Univerisy and the University of Alberta whose official application deadlines are in MAY. As I am feeling I am getting rejected from all 3 programs already, I was going going to Apply for McMaster and Alberta, except that I am thinking it is probably too late and don't want to throw away the application fees required. I was just wondering if anyone actually got accepted to their school despite applying relatively late ( I am aware that some admission decisions were made by both programs already and that is why I feel it might be too late).
  2. Hello everyone, I have been having trouble lately matching my profile with potential MS ECE programs and would greatly appreciate it if anyone could help me with shortlisting potential MS programs to apply to. I aim to apply mostly to universities in Canada and Europe, basically anywhere but the US (as I won't be able to take the GRE in time). I am also mainly looking for research/thesis based degrees, and preferably RA/TA funded degrees. My profile: Undergrad: B.Sc. ECE from an unknown institution internationally, but known regionally and undoubtedly one of the best nationally, Score: 83%. Research Interest: Electromagnetics and optics. IELTS: 9. Publications: 1 Accepted international conference paper in my field of interest. Research Experience: A few undergrad RA experiences/internships (summer internships during undergrad). I have been working as an RA for the last few months, potentially a couple more publications are in the works. Which Canadian/European/Australian/Asian universities can I target with this profile for example for a funded research based MSc. degree? I don't want to waste time and money applying to prestigious institutions where I have no chance, so I would like to know where my 'level' is so to speak. I am an EU citizen if that makes any difference. Would really appreciate any feedback, please let me know if any extra info is needed. TIA .
  3. Hello everybody, Can someone please suggest me universities for Masters in aerospace/ Aeronautical engineering for my profile- GRE- 310 (q-159, v-151) IELTS-7 CGPA- 8.01 1 paper published in non scopus journal 8 weeks project work at HAL 6 months work experience in Aeronautical related startup company.
  4. I got accepted into M.App.Sc. program of a Canadian University. The program’s lengths is “Minimum 3 terms, maximum 9 terms”. I thought all Canadian master’s programs usually result in 3-year PGWP (Post Graduation Work Permit) especially considering this statement: "Officers may issue 3-year work permits to individuals who complete a master’s degree in Canada when the DLI has confirmed in the written confirmation of program completion (e.g., an official letter or transcript) that the degree is 16 to 23 months in duration and does not include regularly scheduled breaks." (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/temporary-residents/study-permits/post-graduation-work-permit-program.html) However, the program has a minimal length of just one year (3 terms). It seems too shirt. Will it help if I study there more than 3 terms or it does not matter and I still can get a 3-year PGWP even after finishing it after 3 terms?
  5. Hello everyone ! I applying for masters in Mechanical engineering in the field of thermal and renewable energy in Canada for Fall-2018, GPA: 8.01/10 IELTS: 8 (L8.5, R9.0, S8.0, W6.5) Current position: Research Assistant at a Thermal Science laboratory, Teaching assistant for two courses at a University Projects: 1) Numerical investigation of refrigerant adsorption on activated carbon 2) Senior year thesis project on space heating using solar energy, wrote a paper to an international journal, currently under review. 3) Research project on Combustion at Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India 4) Synthesising and characterizing Iron oxide nanoparticles for magnetic hyperthermia applications. Extracurricular activities: 1) Captain of SAE-Efficycle team 2) Captain of University Gokart team. 3) 1st Runner up at Technical poster presentation at an international Conference LORs: One from my current project professor and one from HOD of my University, expect both to be strong, additional recommenders include professor at IIT-Madras SOP: Well written, written according to each University directing specific professors and Departments. I wanted to know with this profile what colleges can I aim in Canada, will U of Toronto and Uof Waterloo be ambitious for this profile or do I stand a chance?

  7. Just got accepted to the ECE dept for an MASc, and was wondering how everyone else fared - be nice to hear from future department mates. I'm an international student - kinda (Dual citizenship, but live in Europe, applied as domestic). From a relatively unknown university, ECE major, with a 90+% average, 1.5 years in a departmental research lab, 2 semesters as a TA, and some solid industry experience (2 internships + very relevant final year project with industrial partner). Have admission offers from 3 profs in the department so have to decide between them, but didn't apply to any other universities.
