Hello, I am currently a 4th year undergrad at UCLA studying materials engineering. I need to decide whether to stay at UCLA or head off to Cornell for a masters in materials engineering. I am quite sure I do not want to do a PhD and want to set myself up to be able to get a job either in aerospace/automotive or electronics/semiconductor industries in CA. I was wondering if anyone had any firsthand experiences with the Cornell M. Eng program, or if anyone had any thoughts/advice/tips? UCLA (MS) would be the easy comfortable choice to make but it would be a good opportunity to go out of

Saw some other majors that had a thread for people to post where they chose to accept and which school they are declining. Thought it might be interesting to see!

I have recently been admitted into the Materials PhD programme at UC Santa Barbara. Whilst I am aware that it has been highly ranked by several bodies, I would like a more educated opinion from people here. Is it really as good as they say it is? I am slightly worried as I am an international student. The reputation of UCSB isn't very significant outside of the US and I am hoping I am making the right decision to invest at least 5 years of my life there

I am an international student who was recently accepted into the PhD program for materials science and engineering at UCLA. I was told I would have to support myself for my first year. However, they added that I could apply for TA positions in my second year. What are the chances of me getting those TA positions and funding for next few years at UCLA?
