Hi! So I'm deciding between attending Appalachian State, Univeristy of Memphis, and the and University of South Carolina- I've exsentively researched these programs online and have visited all except USC, but I still feel like I need more insight before I can make a decision! I'm hoping for a supportive program that prepares me for all aspects of the field of SLP. I'm from South Carolina, so in state tuition would be nice, but assistanships are possible at the out-of-state schools. Any advice/insights/tips? Thanks a million!

I wanted to start this post so we can track the speech pathology programs in the south. There are so many threads regarding the northern schools, it gets tiring sorting through all of the different posts. This thread is for southern school programs ONLY (ex. schools states like Alabama, Louisiana, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee, and the Carolinas).

Hi everyone. I apologize in advance if this is the incorrect place to post questions about school decisions, or if these types of posts are annoying in general. I am trying to decide between attending Vanderbilt, U. Memphis, or U. Maryland. I am pretty sure I want to work with stroke/TBI patients who have aphasia/dysphagia, so I think of myself as more interested in the "medical side" of SLP. I have been offered much more funding to Memphis and Maryland than to Vanderbilt, but it seems like Vanderbilt is one of the best for medically focused SLP training. Any advice? I would very much prefer not taking out loans, which I would have to do (to some extent) for Vanderbilt. Thanks for reading and for any insight.
