Hi all, Is a score of 307 too low for funding consideration and/or admission? I am not great at standardized tests which is why I am debating retaking it. 5.5 Writing 153 Q 154 V My undergraduate GPA is 3.33 (3.60 in my major). Schools I am applying to: Michigan (Ford), Duke (Sanford), and Chicago (Harris). Thank you.

Hi everyone, I am applying to Master of Social Work programs. I also want to be able to find some outside scholarships, in case I am not offered any scholarships. Where are you applying for outside scholarships? The only one I can really think of is the Hispanic Scholarship Fund. Any advice and help is greatly appreciated!

Financing your MSW is a popular subject here, so hoping to crowdsource thoughts: What are the programs that offer the most merit aid that is not tied to need? FAFSA has determined that I do not qualify for any grant based need/scholarships, and while I was admitted to Smith, their merit aid is tied to need. I believe I have a strong professional and academic background to get merit-based scholarships. I am not in the hole financially, thank goodness, but I only make 55k/year and have little savings. Taking out loans upwards of 100k+ for an MSW is terrifying. State schools for in-state tuition aren't a great option as I live in DC and we don't have a public MSW program/there is no tuition reciprocity for other programs in nearby states. Other advice? Thanks in advance!

Was wondering if anyone has heard from Indiana University - Bloomington's SPEA about their merit based aid? I was accepted for an MPA / MAAA on 3 February. After a month and a half, I'm becoming more anxious as each day gets closer to March 15th (everything I've been told says that they'll finish allocating merit aid "by mid-March."). I e-mailed them on Friday just to inquire and they said, "Hi Sunsickclown, Thank you for your email! We are still in the process of allocating and awarding merit-based aid for our incoming class and will notify you if we are able to offer you an award. I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have any questions! Kind regards, ----" Feeling kind of like this might mean that I'm not going to get anything. Since I'm out of state, that means I wont be going. Kind of sucks since I really love what I've read about the program. Honestly, I didn't apply to any other programs because I wasn't interested in any other programs.

Indiana University - Bloomington, SPEA MPA / MAAA Funding?

Decided to move this here: Was wondering if anyone has heard from Indiana University - Bloomington's SPEA about their merit based aid? I was accepted for an MPA / MAAA on 3 February. In order to be considered for scholarships (graduate assistantships offered by the school and things of that sort), did you need to have submitted a FAFSA report? Or is that after you are admitted and then you submit the FAFSA to then receive funding? Is it too late to already send it in to be considered for funding? I'm just a little confused...there was no indication on my application to send in FAFSA before the grad application deadline and some applications asked about tax info but I thought that was it....?
