  1. I was wondering if anybody has had experience with their Masters program and if they were comfortable sharing their stats on how they got in. Thanks!
  2. I saw some other states have threads like this, but haven't seen anything for any programs in Missouri (according to ASHA edfind there are 9 SLP schools in MO!). This can be a place to discuss acceptances, waitlists, decisions, and things like cost of living, apt search, etc
  3. For anyone that applied for their Master's in Communication Disorders for Fall '18 at Truman State in Kirksville, MO, has anyone heard? I emailed them today asking about decision turn around and they said they go through about 15 per week, and if the person recalled correctly, mine was in this week's pile so I should be hearing soon... I'm getting so impatient over here!!!
  4. I was comparing these two universities generally on a site called startclass, and then stumbled across this criterion: Crime Statistics. Can someone make some sense of this disparity - why does the number of reported crimes at UNC Chapel hill seem to be almost double that of Mizzou? Does it have to do with the crime rate in these states in general, or does it have to do with the size and culture of these particular universities? I haven't yet compared any other universities on this criterion. Could these stats be flawed - if so how?
  5. While I'm waiting to hear back from PhD programs at other schools- I thought I'd extend a helping hand to anyone considering a Missouri graduate program. I've done my undergrad (Broadcast Journalism) and Masters (Journalism) at MU. I would love to stay for my PhD, if not for that whole unwritten rule about "academic inbreeding". When I applied for my MA, I got the acceptance letter via email in March (if that helps anyone looking for a general timeframe). Respond to this thread (or PM me) if you think there's something I can help with. Good luck everyone!
