  1. Hi all, Thanks for reading this! I'm deciding between the Computation and Neural System PhD program at Caltech and the Brain and Cognitive Science PhD program at MIT. For background, I double major in Neuroscience and Cognitive Science with a minor in Applied Math and Stats in a top 10 university. Have been doing cognitive/systems/comp neuro research for 3 years. I'm interested in mechanisms of learning and decision-making, broadly defined, and also cognition in general. That's pretty broad, and I'll narrow down what I want to do once I decide on my rotations. Both programs s

My local community colleges don't offer one and have been looking for an online one that would count for a pre-req, but still letting my travel to go home. My father is very sick and I help take care of him/visit and spend time, any suggestions would be very appreciated!
  3. Hi! I am in MAJOR need of advice! Here's the sitch: I live in California. I work for an educational non-profit that I LOVE and care for deeply. I was given an unofficial job offer last week to take over our region as a Regional Manager (making a salary, full-time hours, management experience) for minimum of a one year commitment. DAYS later, I receive awesome news! I have been accepted into the Masters of Arts for Psychology with a focus in Cognition and Neuroscience at NYU!!! NEW YORK OMG! I have dreamt of New York for nearly ten years now and even applied to NYU for my BA ou

I received my undergraduate through the Liberal Arts College and majored in Individual Program of Study in Neuroscience, a major that I tailored with my research professor since a neuro degree wasn't actually offered yet at U of I for undergrads. I graduated with a 3.2 GPA due to a lot of personal events and stress that occurred during my undergrad, along with being diagnosed with anxiety/depression at the end of my junior year. Despite my low GPA though, I do have about 3 years of research exp
