  1. Hi All, I haven't seen anything on the discussion threads about Steinhardt and there seem to be very few posts online from previous years too. Did anyone else on gradcafe apply for a PhD in education there this year?
  2. I just got accepted into Chapman's post-bac program for spring 2017! I'm going to accept. However, I've been talking to an admissions counselor from NYU who keeps pushing me to apply for the grad program instead since they're also offering a post-bac (foundations courses) within their grad program as well. They said they "can't guarantee" they would accept the post-bac courses from Chapman if I chose to apply for the grad program only without the foundations courses. Have any of you gotten accepted into Chapman's post-bac for spring 2017? It is much cheaper than doing the foundation courses th
  3. I have been accepted to MA programs in theater education at both Emerson and NYU Steinhardt and I am very torn about which to commit to. Can anyone speak to the quality of the courses/professors and the job opportunities in k-12 education available after graduating at either or both schools? I am happy living in either NY or Boston so I don't need any info about the cities they are in. Thanks so much!
  4. Hi All - I just received my acceptance letter from NYU Steinhardt MA in Art Therapy (crazy excited!), but the letter indicates I will receive my financial aid package "in the next few weeks", and that I must accept by 3/15 for my spot to be held. However, I may not hear from the School of Visual Arts (the other program I am interested in) until early March and, if accepted, may not receive my financial aid package until well after 3/15. Has anyone else dealt with a situation like this and, if so, am I just SOL or are graduate programs (like NYU) flexible in these dates? I just want to
  5. Hello everyone! I am obsessed with the NYU Steinhardt MA in Childhood Education. I love their philosophy and how they focus on the individual child and on teaching to diverse classrooms. Does anyone know of other masters programs that are similar to the NYU Steinhardt program? - Thank you!
  6. Does anyone know of a program that is similar to NYU's Childhood Education program? Also, do you know of any fellowship programs where you also receive your accrediation in major cities on the East Coast that you would recommend? What is the best state to go to grad school in where your accrediation will probably be accepted at other places. (For example if you go to New York for your masters, will Florida most likely accept the course work that you did in New York) Thank you for helping me out, Mallory
