  1. Hello, I wanted to ask a question about receiving your speech therapist assistant license in TX. I am currently pursuing a second bachelors degree in communication disorders. I would like to apply for my slpa license, I have all the classes, I just do not know how to get the 25 observation/ 25 clinical instructional hours. Do I call around to speech clinics? Or can I do it at a school? Any insight would be very helpful. Thank you.
  2. Hello all, So I am planning on applying in Fall 2019 and would ideally like to start in Fall 2020 if accepted somewhere. I am currently working on my perquisites through UMass Amherst online, but I know I need to also start working on observation hours. I currently work full time Mon-Fri 9-5 so I am not sure how to go about finding or doing the observation hours. I know some people had mentioned they did them online somehow. If anyone has done this, would you mind sharing how and through what sites. I am an out of field applicant so I don't really know any professors to ask.
  3. I'm an out of field student (B.A. Linguistics and French 2015) and I'm not really sure the best way to go about this. Should I cold-call? Should I email? Is there a standard format for this? I'm taking leveling courses in the Fall and Spring at UT Austin but I have a 5 week period in the summer where my schedule is basically open and I'd like to get a head start on observation hours. Any and all advice is appreciated! I have an advising appointment tomorrow so I'm also going to bring it up then.
