Hello, I wanted to ask a question about receiving your speech therapist assistant license in TX. I am currently pursuing a second bachelors degree in communication disorders. I would like to apply for my slpa license, I have all the classes, I just do not know how to get the 25 observation/ 25 clinical instructional hours. Do I call around to speech clinics? Or can I do it at a school? Any insight would be very helpful. Thank you.
Hello all, So I am planning on applying in Fall 2019 and would ideally like to start in Fall 2020 if accepted somewhere. I am currently working on my perquisites through UMass Amherst online, but I know I need to also start working on observation hours. I currently work full time Mon-Fri 9-5 so I am not sure how to go about finding or doing the observation hours. I know some people had mentioned they did them online somehow. If anyone has done this, would you mind sharing how and through what sites. I am an out of field applicant so I don't really know any professors to ask.
I'm an out of field student (B.A. Linguistics and French 2015) and I'm not really sure the best way to go about this. Should I cold-call? Should I email? Is there a standard format for this? I'm taking leveling courses in the Fall and Spring at UT Austin but I have a 5 week period in the summer where my schedule is basically open and I'd like to get a head start on observation hours. Any and all advice is appreciated! I have an advising appointment tomorrow so I'm also going to bring it up then.
