  1. Hey yall- I'm starting this thread for those applying to NPSIA for 2018. Feel free to post any questions or comments here. And as offers roll out too dont be afraid to share your acceptance or decline comments here Just curious, in regards to the MA, are people limiting their statement of intent to a certain number of words? is it research focused (with citations and all) even if you aren't planning on doing the thesis or MRP? The instructions on the website are quite vague, so i'm curious what people are doing (especially word count wise).
  2. Hi everyone! I am currently finishing off my undergrad with a pending application for University of Ottawa's MA(ED) counselling psychology program for Fall 2018 admission. With the results coming out slowly, I was wondering if anyone could answer some questions I have about the program and the admission procedure. 1. Do they conduct interviews before sending out offers to potential candidates? In the results search section, it seems like people never do pre-admission interviews. 2. Has anyone received offer of admission from this program? 2. What exactly happened to their PhD program? On the website it just says admission to the PhD program will be suspended until further notice. 3. How would it look for other schools if I finish this program and apply for their clinical/counselling programs (masters or doctorate)? 4. Any other general tips?
  3. Hi everybody. I would like to know if someone gets accepted for Master Program in Human Kinetics at University of Ottawa. I applied in May and still waiting a decision. I am worried about the time to proceed with student permit since I am an international student. Someone who applied to share some information??
  4. Hi everyone! I just officially accepted my offer from the University of Ottawa in Information Studies a few minutes ago and I'm very excited I was wondering if anyone else on this website is also going to be a student in this program in the fall and would like to connect via Facebook group or something! Also, if any Ottawa residents have any recommendations for finding housing (other than checking kijiji and the student housing billboard), please post them here! Gotta find a place to live soon...
  5. Hi everybody I am applying to both Munk School of Global Affairs (U of T) and NPSIA (Carelton). I am also applying to GPSIA (U of Ottawa)...but i would say that it is my third option behind these two schools. I had a question regarding what criteria should I use to determine which program is a better overall program and why I may attend one over the other. I've already considered factors such as - My own research interest (Intelligence, Global Security) - Faculty Research (For me, Carelton wins this one) - Location - Concentrations/field designations - Tuition (20k v. 8k tuition + living expenses), - Reputation (both are stellar schools) I remain unclear on the following: - employment prospects (employment percentages) - global reputation - opportunities throughout the graduate year - co-op/internships etc. If anybody could help me out, that'd be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
  6. Hi guys! I got accepted to a couple of journalism grad programs in Canada and I'm torn which one to choose. So, I desperately need input and advice to put things in perspective and hopefully, make a logical decision that I won't regret. Anyway, I got in to the Master of Journalism program in UBC, Western, Ryerson, and Carleton. What are the pros and cons of each program? Which one is better? Should I attend the one that offers me the most funding or choose the one I really want to attend? Feel free to response! I'm just desperate as deadlines to accept/decline offers are coming up. Thanks!
