Hi. I've been accepted to Teaching Learning and Learship MSEd at Penn GSE and Curriculum and Teaching MA at Teachers College. I was wondering what other people think of these two schools and which school you would pick. I've heard Teachers College at Columbia is seen as "not quite Columbia" because they are an affiliate school whereas Penn GSE is properly a part of UPenn. Just wondering what others think about this and other aspects such as prestige and the course themselves (what is more challenging or how time-consuming they are). Thanks!

Hi all! I received an invitation for a group interview for Penn's Counseling and Mental Health Services master's program, and was wondering if anyone who has gone through this interview in the past has any advice or insight they'd be willing to share! Thank you very much in advance! 🙂 *Cross-posted in "Interviews and Visits" FYI

Hi, everyone! Would really appreciate any insight or advice as I struggle with my grad school decision. I got in to both of my top masters programs: Boston University School of Medicine and Penn GSE. I love both schools so much, and am really struggling to decide where to go. I like that BU's program is in their medical school and is CACREP accredited. I also really could see myself living in Boston. But then UPenn is UPenn, and I would get two masters in two years. I haven't heard much about living in Philadelphia, so that's really my only worry. If you have any advice or insight into either of these programs or cities, I would really appreciate it! Thanks!!

Does anyone know if Penn GSE has sent out emails for interviews? I applied for the PhD in Education Policy program and haven't heard anything yet. Thanks!

Hi everyone! Just throwing some thoughts out into the void, seeing if anyone else is waiting on Penn GSE Higher Education master's decisions. I'm a little confused if we should expect to wait 4-6 weeks after the priority deadline (February 15) or not. It seems like last year some people heard back starting the last week of February, a year to the day (gulp!) Anyone have thoughts?

Hi everyone, I am currently submitting my application for UPenn's mid-career doctorate in education leadership. The program brochure claims that all applicants will get to have an interview. Does anyone know if this is true? I found some information online that says about 33% of applicants get accepted into this program. Does anyone have more insight into how competitive this program is or if it's true that all applicants get an interview? PLEASE let me know your insights!

Hello! I’m an Asian student with offers of admission to the counseling graduate program at both Penn State and UPenn. I’m having a hard time deciding. Penn State’s program is ranked among the top ten, but UPenn seems to be more reputed as a school. However UPenn’s program is only a year long including the practicum , while Penn State offers a two year program with a practicum of 1.5 years. My goal is to pursue doctoral study (not seek licensure for practice) so I’m wondering if I should go ahead with UPenn. I will have to take a loan for either (and the tuition is in the same ball park), so the financial aspect does not count. Plus I have professors whose research interests are closely aligned with mine at both universities, so I’m quite torn. What would you guys do or advise?

Penn GSE (Teaching, Learning and Leadership) vs UMich School of Education (Teaching and Learning) vs HGSE (Learning and Teaching) vs Teachers College (Curriculum and Teaching) All are 1 year programs. Suggestions on which one I should opt for?
