  1. Hey guys! I've been working on my SOP for PhD (BA holder) in cultural anthropology for over a month now and the more I read it, the less I believe in it. I'm on a tight turn around (Dec 1st) and could really use some guidance! The one program requires a 500 word SOP/Personal statement and the other wants a 1000 SOP + 500 words on what I assume is a personal statement. If anyone would be wiling to take a look please send me a message and I'll get you what I have. Also, good luck to everyone out there who is nearing the end of their application process, you can do this (simultaneously
  2. I'm finishing up my personal statement for a Masters in Speech Pathology and am really worried that the fact that I didn't major in speech pathology in undergrad (Spanish major) will give me a disadvantage. If anyone could give me feedback on how to strengthen my personal statement I'd really appreciate it. Speech Pathology Masters Personal Statement .docx
  3. Hi, I have written a SOP and a Personal Statement (diversity) and am wondering if anyone would be willing to look them over and give me some feedback? I am from an historically underrepresented group and am the first in my family to pursue a PhD, so I am a bit out of my depth here. Any help will be greatly appreciated (PM me)!
  4. If anyone here has applied to Penn State for their Ph.D. in English program and you know about this, please clarify for me. I would really appreciate it. Thanks! So on the English department's website, it says that a SOP (1-3 double-spaced pages) is required. However, when I went to start the application, the portal says that part of the documentation required is a personal statement with the following prompt: "Why do you want to pursue a higher degree in English studies at a time when the Liberal Arts are often less valued than science and technology?" This doesn't sound like a
  5. Hello! Hope everyone is having a great Friday. I finished a draft of my personal statement for one of the schools I'm applying to. Would anyone like to read it and give me some feedback/constructive criticism? Thanks in advance 😁
  6. Hello everyone, Here is my SOP for Physics PhD. programs. Please take a look and give me some feedback. Also, recommendations and suggestions for my target grad schools would be really helpful. Some details about me: GRE general: 153 V, 157 Q, AWA: 4; TOEFL: 98/120; GPA : 3.7/4; GRE physics: results yet to be declared. I plan to specialize in Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics, particularly in Topological Insulators. I would like to appreciate for your help, in advance. Thank you very much !! I had an influencing fascination towards science right
  7. Hi everyone, I am applying for a PhD at universities in the UK. I have recently finished the first draft of my personal statement. I would like to receive some constructive feedback, so I wonder if there is anyone who could advise me on improving my personal statement. Also, I am happy to swap with someone else to help you improve your personal statement. Hope to hear back from you! Thanks.
  8. Hi! Growing up I have had multiple chronic illnesses that have shaped my life. In recent years I have been able to be a full time college student without the illnesses getting in the way. After getting my PhD I want to work with children with chronic illness and other health issues. Some mentors have told me to include my health history in my personal statement while others have warned me to avoid it at all cost. Since it directly relates to my research interest and future career goals, should I include my medical history in my application? Thanks!
  9. Does it have to be Times New Roman 12pt? Can I use Arial 11pt-will this appear to be too small/tight for the readers?
