Hi I'm currently making the difficult decision of where to pursue my graduate studies in Historic Preservation. Initially I was very interested in Pratt's program, but having read many comments on this forum and heard from former students, it sounds like some people have had really horrible experiences. But, all of these stories seemed to be a couple years old, under the former director. What I'm wondering is if anyone can speak to the improvements in the program since then. Does anyone have impressions of the current program? I'm also considering Columbia but the price is freaking me out. Thanks!

Hi, I'm researching which library and information school I'd like to go to, and one of the options I'm investigating is maybe going to a school in the UK (I'm American, by the way, if that's important). I realize that American library schools and UK library schools have different accreditation associations (ALA vs cilip), so I have a few questions about the benefits or disadvantages of studying in the UK. - How do American employers view applicants that come from a non-ALA accredited school? - Are there any major differences in UK librarianship practices that would make it difficult for me to get a job in the US or elsewhere in the world? - Has anyone gone to a UK library school and could you say something about your education experience?
