  1. Hey all, I hope I'm posting in the right place! So I'm going to be attending Colorado State University's Public History program in the fall, with a concentration in Cultural Resource Management. I'm having a bit of trouble trying to figure out if I should take a class that we (incoming first years) were told is probably only going to be offered this fall - Material Culture. The problem is, I don't know who my advisor is or anything, and I'm not sure if I should take it for CRM or not. Does anyone have any thoughts on if I should take it or not? The problem is is that it would count as 1 out of
  2. I was told by the academic coordinator, earlier in Feb., that students would be notified about acceptance or rejection for the public history master's by the end of February. I know it's only March 6, but I still haven't heard anything back yet. I reached out last friday and haven't gotten a response... am I waitlisted? I'm unsure if I should try to get in touch with the professor that I have previously spoken to.. or if I should just sit and wait... Please help or any advice is greatly appreciated!
  3. Hello! I am applying to Public History and Archives programs for fall 2016. Where can I find some good scholarships and/or grants? Also, should I even start applying for the scholarships if I have not been accepted by the schools yet? Thanks!
  4. I will be graduating next fall from a state university history program with an anticipated 3.8-3.9 GPA. I plan on studying for the GRE this semester and taking it in the summer. However, standardized testing and I don't get along very well. How much emphasis is placed on the different subjects of the GRE for a public history program? Also, will coming from a small state university with up to five transfers credits from a community college from intersess
  5. Hey guys, I realize there's an older question along these lines, and apparently an even older thread that covers the topic, but the link to that even older thread does not work. So at the risk of being redundant, I'd like to ask again: Does anyone out there have a particular recommendation towards public history programs, especially MA's? I've been looking into schools listed through the Public History Resource Center, but I'd love to get a better sense of how programs are regarded in the field. As for myself, I have a BA in History, spent the last two years working at a children's
