  1. I typically hand write my notes using the traditional pen and paper. However, I am debating on switching that up whether it be getting a tablet for note-taking or some other method. If you use a tablet, which one do you use and what do you like about this method the most? If not, what other method do you use? Thanks in advance!
  2. Hey there! I'm wondering what is the proper etiquette or when is the proper time to let the professors/supervisors know about acceptances and thank them for writing? Is it best to wait until I actually make a decision, as opposed to just letting them know where I was accepted/rejected? I don't want to bother them with too many emails.
  3. Hi everyone, I’m having a hard time getting letter of references. I’d like to know if it’s possible I can use a field evaluation (undergrad internship evaluation) substituted for a letter of recommendation? Would the graduate admissions still consider this as a letter of references? Thanks.
  4. HELP! I feel like the honest answer is "never" because it will probably annoy her but also I'm not completely sure she ever received the link because when I sent it out the application said it was possible it could be sent to a spam folder. The application deadline isn't until December 31st so I know that I should chill, but also, I don't want to wait until the last minute and have her think I never sent it! I asked her if she would mind writing me another recommendation in June (this is my second cycle applying) and I submitted the form with her email on September 25th. I know she's probably
  5. So I've been doing research with a couple of the professors in the specific program that I'm applying to in a couple years, how will this influence my application process? I think it will help that I know their work so well already and they have seen how I work as a RA, but I don't want to feel to confidently about our relationship in terms of my application versus other candidates.
  6. Hi! I'm interested in applying to Masters of Marketing and/or Masters of Management (Marketing) programs. I was wondering if anyone has completed either the Masters of Marketing at Trinity College Dublin or Masters of Management (Marketing) at University of Melbourne? If anyone has partaken in either can you let me know your experience? Did you find that it was easy to acquire work once back in the U.S.? Where did you go to search for scholarships to fund your studies? If you have any other recommendations for schools I should apply to that offer these programs please let me know.
  7. I decided this week that going to school and teaching or being an asst. in a school at the same time will not work for me. So I must wait and apply to a school when the situation allows that and I live elsewhere since my favored school is in Las Vegas and I'm still in OR. I must get in state residence in another state or my second favorite state(CA or AZ)? But I had already started an ap. and was just about done with it. And I sent the request for a recommendation a second time, since I had asked 4 years ago after only 6 mos in undergrad. studies(post ba), and post-8 years as a stock
  8. Hey guys, So I was wondering, will it be possible for me in the future to change one of my recommendors? The problem is, one of my recommendors is usually a very busy person, and I'm not sure if he would have the time to write a recommendation letter. Although he has confirmed of his willingness of providing me with a recommendation. So in case the teacher doesn't submit the recommendation, does the online application system of universities allow me to delete a recommendor and add a new one whenever I would like to do it before the deadline? Another problem I have is, as I
  9. Hi all, I just paid for the Interfolio service, only to find that it is likely not to work with a majority of my school programs. I thought it'd be helpful to have some data on what applications do and do not accept the service, so that future applicants can make a better choice than I did. Attached is a google doc. If you have had any positive or negative experiences with the service, feel free to edit! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/14Gu4_uCx7ROtJPskRFaZ5JihRNDLHr1SXKlxxJWW0tk/edit?usp=sharing
  10. Hello folks, I am currently exploring MPP/MPA courses in the USA with an intention to apply for Fall'2018. I am specifically looking at courses which combine Public Policy with Science/ Analytics/ Data Science like UChicago's MS in Computational Analysis and Public Policy (MSCAPP) , CMU's MSPPM- Data Analytics Track. I have a bachelor's in computer science and engineering from India and 2 years of work experience as a big data engineer at a reputed MNC. In addition I have considerable amount of part-time public service experience and I am working on a project that applies big data in the
  11. Hey all, Looking for recommendations on schools/potential POI's for the history of media and mass culture in 20th century America. Open to both US and Canadian schools. Thank you!

Hey all, Would submitting only two recommendations when the college requests 3 be an automatic rejection? THANKS
  13. Hello all: So, I'm trying to figure out who my 3 recommenders are going to be. I've got two that are obvious: 1. My current boss 2. My undergraduate thesis advisor For my third, I'm not sure what to do. I could easily get another work-related person - a co-worker at the same level, or another supervisor. I could also easily get another professor to speak to my academic ability. But I'm wondering if a third option might be better: a fairly prominent (by local standards) political organizer/activist, who is a graduate of a prestigious JD/MPP program himself. He knows me fairl
  14. Today, I went to visit one of my recommenders who was having trouble with the online system. I don't understand why schools insist on online recommendations, especially in a field renowned for aging professors, who will certainly have trouble navigating the websites. Anyway, so I helped her submit the two remaining recommendations, which means I'm up to 8 completed recommendations--2 for every school in the US. Still waiting for my third recommender to do her four letters (she hasn't even started them yet), and I also need to find recommenders (they call them referees) for the two UK unis I'm
