I've been given interviews for the Bioengineering Program at UC Berkeley-UCSF and the Systems, Synthetic, and Physical Biology program at Rice University. Does anybody know anything about these two programs? I'm specifically thinking about the quality and relevance of their synbio research output, as well as any comparisons of the programs themselves. I'm also worried about the housing situation for grad students at berkeley, as well as grad students being way overworked. Does anybody know what its like to work for Jay Keasling or Adam Arkin in particular? I know they are big names, but Im wondering what the lab environments are like.
Hey everyone, I'm thinking of applying for my PhD in management at two very different schools, McGill University in Canada (Desautels) and Rice University (Jones) in the US. Does anyone here have any insight as to which might be better program? I will likely only apply to these two, and perhaps 2-3 other schools. Thanks!
Hi, I am in my first year of a phd program in political science, and I am considering transferring. I was wondering if anyone had advice as to the general difficulty of transferring, if it causes substantial delay, what type of financial aid is generally available (I have a pretty nice package from the university that I am at, and I am going to attempt to get a National Science Fellowship). Also if anyone has any info on Rice, GMU, or CGU, it'd be of interest. Thanks
