  1. Hello, I submitted my application way before the August 15 deadline and I haven’t heard from them. I don’t know if I should email them or if anyone has received an acceptance from them.
  2. I have got acceptance from both schools with 3 years of funding. Both places have a choice of 3-4 professor who can be my advisor. The area of research - aeroelasticity, wind turbine and smart structure are present in both schools. The funding amount is almost the same. My question is with regards to choice of career after PhD - 1. Academia 2. Industrial Research and 3. National Labs
  3. Hi everyone, didn't see an RPI thread, so decided to post this. I'll be starting my PhD in Electrical Engineering this fall. I'd like to talk to other incoming grad students, maybe create a WhatsApp group?
  4. I am an international student and in the begging of February I got an answer from a Professor at RPI saying she had read my application and was interested in admitting me as a PhD student at RPI Biomedical Engineering Program. I replied thanking her and said I would be really interested in being admitted at RPI and working on her lab. She mentioned that we should Skype sometime but never answered me back. I haven't heard any official Answer from RPI yet. Should I give up hope? Did I just get ghosted from a potential advisor?
  5. So, since I don't want to wait for Purdue to admit me after 4/15, I chose to accept RPI's offer 3 days ago. However, I tried sending them the formal signed letter, then send them an email asking what else I need to submit before the deadline, then call the coordinator (each of them a day apart), but zero response whatsoever. Given that I have done everything I could think of, I'm starting to worry a bit. What is happening and what should I do now?
  6. Choosing between a Bio PhD program at Northeastern and a BME PhD program at RPI. Both fully funded with professors of interest, but I'm torn between what might be a more reputable school (RPI) further out of the way and further out of my comfort zone (coming from Boston College) and a school with more connections (NEU) but a less reputable program. I hope to specialize in regenerative medicine and eventually go into industry working in R & D or a biotech startup. My gut tells me NEU, but I also realize I'm heavily biased toward the familiarity of Boston. Freaking out a bit sonce decision time is only days away! Any thoughts?
