  1. Hello there! I hope you are doing well during unusual pandemics around the world. I have been working on the application process for LKYSPP, which is my first-choice school. I have taken TOEFL again and again in order to get a higher score. Looking at the application checklist, the Admissions Committee does not set minimum scores for admissibility, but they indicate successful applicants usually achieve or exceed the following scores: 100 on the TOEFL internet-based test. If my score is below 100 and is roughly 80-90, does means that I can't be a competitive candidate for this program? Or do you think other application materials will cover a lack of language proficiency in the screening process? I hope to hear from you! Thank you,
  2. Hi, I just received an offer for NTU MSc. Applied Economics. Just wondering whether anyone here has graduated from or is studying on this program. Or want to invite other people who knows about this program. 1. What is your review about this program? 2. I am planning to apply for top PhD Econs program in US. Is it a good master degree for this aspiration?
  3. Hi All, I have B.Eng in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Nanyang Technological University Singapore. What are things that I need to do to apply for top Econs PhD program?
  4. Hi all, Please give your suggestions and thoughts about my SOP. Please proofread and the ways to make it better. Thanks SOP1.3.docx
  5. Hey folks, I've seen some posts regarding other international programs, but are there really no others on this forum that applied to NUS's Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy? Hoping to hear if anyone has had an interview or has one scheduled in the near future. Though I can't say their application process hasn't been the most intuitive, their program and location are very much ideal for what I'm hoping to do in the future--but I'm aware Asians have a bias against their own institutions. Granted, I also attended a well-respected American undergrad institution and if I've learned anything during my several years of working, it's that a network means a lot more than a diploma. So, anyone out there going through this process w/ me?
  6. Hey guys, I got a TA from UNC Charlotte and an RA from Nanyang Technological university(in Singapore), both are Ph.D program in Mechanical Engineering. I am an college senior in China, and the United States is my dream country, I always hope I could one day be there. However, UNC charlotte ranks pretty low both in discipline rank(90+ in Mechanical Engineering) and in overall rank(almost 200), I am afraid it would be very difficult for me to find a good job in the US after I graduate, or even come back to China. I want to listen to you guys' advice, and I think they will mean a lot to me. PS: I want to go to industry after I graduate.
