  1. Hey everyone! I just had a question about graduate assistantships or fellowships offered at NYU or Columbia. At my current university I know a few graduate students who are MSW but they are doing assistantships with Higher Education. Does anyone have any insight about the process of locating such opportunities? I tried navigating the NYU and Columbia websites, but I couldn't seem to find any information. Thank you all so much!

I recently completed a summer language emersion program at Middlebury College. I did horrible. I had a 2.33 GPA for the summer. I had a medical condition that I was being treated for that made me miss part of the program and I was being treated for it while I was in school. I am applying for grad school in international affairs this fall. I graduated college in 2013 and these are the most recent grades that I have. How will grad schools view these grades since they were completed after my degree GPA? Is this a death sentence to a good program? My undergraduate GPA was a 3.3 and I am doing well on my GRE practice tests.
  3. Hello everyone, I am in a tough situation right now so I'd really appreciate it if anyone can give me some advice. I have been accepted to 2 of the 6 schools I have applied to. They are my number 3 and 4 schools so I am pretty pleased. Simon Fraser offered me a full ride plus TA positions on February 7. However, they want me to reply to their offer by February 21. Even though I am very excited about the offer, I'd still like to hear back from my top 2 schools before I make any final decisions. I am thinking of a way to communicate it to SFU without making them sound like they are a backup plan or being disrespectful to the department, especially when they offer me a lot of money. If anyone would help me with a sample template of email to request a deadline extension or something along the line, it'd be very much appreciated! Thank you so much!
