  1. I am very excited to start grad school in the fall. I often feel as though I’m “missing” something. There’s so much information out there on SLP that I haven’t seen. So I wanted to ask those who have already started their career as an SLP, what are some things you wish you had known before you graduated? Is there anything that would’ve made you reach your goals more efficiently or made the process easier? For example, my ultimate goal is to move to Boston and work in a children’s hospital, do you have any advice? Do you have any externship advice? Thanks!
  2. By the time I had the idea to apply to graduate programs abroad, I had already applied to 6 schools in the states and was exhausted by the application process. I couldn't choose my top choice school due to the price tag scaring me, and it scared me enough to accept a seat at the cheapest school (also the coldest and farthest drive). I have already lived and worked abroad during my gap years, so I don't know why this idea never came to mind! Essentially my question is: Is it common to transfer graduate programs after a year or a semester? Going to another anglophone country that is recogni
  3. Hello everyone! I'm interested in UT Dallas's program. Can anyone share their personal pros and cons to the program? The website had a lot of information about the facilities and services provided, but I was hoping to talk to someone who is currently attending or have attended the program. Thanks in advance!
  4. Hello! I applied to the Core SLP MS program at the University of Washington for Fall 2020 admission. This is definitely my reach school, but they have everything I want in a program. One of my professors who wrote my LOR also pushed me to apply, so I figured I'd shoot my shot. I also noticed that in the last three years, applications to the Core SLP program has decreased from 262 applicants (FA17) to 186 applicants (FA19). Their range of GPAs and GRE scores are wide, but on average applicants from last year had a 3.82 cum, 3.89 last 90 credits; GREs 4.5W, 154Q, and 158V. (https://sphsc.wa
  5. To help those like me who are playing the waiting game... Please post here if you are DECLINING your acceptance OR waitlist position at a school. This will HELP people get a better idea of their situation! Thanks to everyone who participates! Congrats to all the SLPs to be!
