Hi. I've been accepted to Teaching Learning and Learship MSEd at Penn GSE and Curriculum and Teaching MA at Teachers College. I was wondering what other people think of these two schools and which school you would pick. I've heard Teachers College at Columbia is seen as "not quite Columbia" because they are an affiliate school whereas Penn GSE is properly a part of UPenn. Just wondering what others think about this and other aspects such as prestige and the course themselves (what is more challenging or how time-consuming they are). Thanks!

Hey everyone, I got into Teachers Columbia for their Developmental Psychology program (MA) and into Vanderbilt University for their Human Development Studies (M.Ed) course. I wanted to know which one of these has better employability. I look forward to working after my masters. The course at Vanderbilt is terminal and the one at Teachers College is non terminal. I just wanted to know which one is better for me. I am also considering a PhD. But I am yet to fully dedicate myself to that path. I am an international student, so, STEM is another major factor. TC offers me a STEM extension. Vanderbilt offers me 35% scholarship. I have to make a decision soon. Could someone please help me out here!

Grad school straight from undergrad? (HIGHER ED.!)

Hi, everyone! I've been scrolling through posts on this site and finally decided to give in and create an account! I'm currently a junior in my undergrad but need to start preparing for the application process to graduate school. Through ample internships, I've fallen in love with higher education administration. I have two primary questions that I cannot seem to find answers to elsewhere: 1. What is the likelihood that one may be accepted into an Ed.D. program straight from undergrad? All of the research I've done thus far indicate they require a master's degree. 2. I've been looking at various master's programs, (TC, HGSE, UPenn) but have yet to find any information on the student population makeup of these groups. I was wondering if anyone would be able to give insight into the student consistency of these higher education programs? More specifically, do these programs include many students directly from undergraduate studies or are they more early/mid-career heavy? If anyone could please contribute, I'd truly appreciate it! -grad_girl
