  1. Hey Everyone! I haven't seen a thread for Teachers College at Columbia University! I thought I would start the thread with my program of choice and stats. I think we all would love for people to ask questions, share stats, share acceptances/denials. :) Program: Higher and Post Secondary Education GPA: 3.81 Undergrad Major: Sociology I'm really scared about this whole process and anticipating results!!
  2. Hey guys, I am wondering if you or your friends have heard anything from Columbia University Teachers College about the admission into M.A. Program in Socia-Organizational Psychology (S/O Psychology). I have been admitted to the M.A Program of I/O Psychology from NYU, but still waiting for Columbia's decision since it would be my top choice to study at TC. (it's a long wait and kinda drives me crazy...) Lemme know if you are also waiting for hearing from them. Thanks!
  3. Hi, I have already received the admission letter from Master of Arts program in International Educational Development at Teachers College, Columbia University and Master of Education program in Child Studies at Peabody, Vanderbilt University. I'm from China and want some advice for my decision. Here are my expectations: 1. To build a solid foundation of knowledge in education, including research skills in specialized aspects(such as developmental psychology) and strategic view of macro policy. I want to relate good-quality products with needs of real world, which requires strong insights. As for my professional goals, I want to be a specialist in educational intervention design in the short term and a leader in the long term. 2. To make friends with interesting, outstanding and steady classmates. 3. To focus on study and practice 4. To find a job with reasonable salaries after graduation 5. To balance life and study during graduate school Thanks a lot if you do have some suggestions😊
  4. Could anyone please help me with the following: I'm applying for Econ and edu in Teachers College Columbia 2018fall. I realized the program late and submitted on Mar 3. I finished undergrad in UCL, UK with GPA 3.65 and GMAT 710, and some econ and finance related internship experience. But I partly focused on education in my personal statement. Is there any possibility that I can get in? When will be the possible decision time? (I'm facing deposit choices from UCSD and JHU...) Thanks
  5. I know this is a good problem to have but I am having a hard time deciding between New York University and Columbia... I have visited both and love both. The programs seem very similar and I'm sure clinical experiences are very similar as well. Does anyone have any thoughts or insight? Please help me haha
  6. Hi guys, I am strongly considering applying to NYU and Teachers College as well as Hunter College for Childhood Education/Special Education at the childhood level (dual). I understand that all programs are very reputable, however I am having a very tough time deciding on whether or not I want to have the burden of loans when I know I can get a cheaper education at a State school. I graduated from Cornell University with a BS in Human Development and I want to be sure that I give myself the best possible education. My question is, for all of the loans (40K+) do you think its worth it to enroll at an NYU or a Columbia? to then become a teacher (part of me says yes - because of the reputation and name and part of my says no - because of the financial risk). Your feedback will really help me! Thanks!
