  1. Does anyone know if the Pace Communication and disorders program have the TSSLD and bilingual extension?
  2. Hi guys! I'm currently in a grad program in NYC that does not offer classes required for the TSSLD. I want to be open to working in schools and thus have been looking up where I can take these education courses to qualify for the certification. From my research, I came across this website via the NYS Education Department which lists all the pathways that lead to getting the initial certification for the TSSLD: http://eservices.nysed.gov/teach/certhelp/CertRequirementHelp.do I was surprised to find that the last pathway, titled "Pathway: NYS Professional License", does not require any grad level classes at all. It only requires an SLP license along with a few workshops to be completed. Is this accurate? I always heard that you need some specific education courses (both undergrad and grad) to qualify for the TSSLD. But of course if the requirements changed, that's infinitely better as I'd save some time and money from not having to take more courses. Would appreciate any info regarding this. Thanks!
  3. Does anyone know how the TSSLD works -- specifically for TC Columbia, NYC and New York Medical College? I've heard we need to have taken courses in these subjects: Math, Science, History, English, and Foreign Language But, do we need to have taken courses in ALL of those subjects? Or is it enough to have just taken one or two? Also, would statistics count as a math course? Any insight would be much appreciated!
  4. Hi all! So, for those attending a masters program in the Fall, or already attending:: I am looking for opinions on getting your TSSLD. Originally, I had a mindset of working in a hospital one day, but people keep telling me to go for the TSSLD for job security. The program I am going to be attending strongly suggests it but you do not have too, what is everyone else doing? Thanks in advance!
  5. Hi everyone,I am torn between 2 great graduate schools for speech-language pathology. One is New York Medical College and the other is MGH IHP in Boston. I know that I want to ultimately live and work in NY in the future but MGH IHP has offered me a large academic scholarship and it has a great reputation. Do you think if I know where I would want to work that it would be beneficial to stay in NY to make connections here during graduate school? Or go to the school that is out of state and then return to NY after? Any advice would be appreciated. I am not sure how difficult it would be to move states after gaining a Master's degree and how different licensing and certification works. Thanks!Nicole
