  1. Hi guys! I recently got admitted to UBC's master's program in political science (I also got accepted into U Toronto, but their faculty is much more IR focused, whereas I'm interested in comparative). I'm an American who specifically chose to do her master's outside of the U.S. However, I intend to complete my Phd in Political Science in an American institution (I'm especially interested in the UC system). I wanted to know if any of you had any knowledge of the quality of social science and politics research in UBC, as well as the Canadian system all around. I really like UBC's facul
  2. I have received admit offers from London School of Economics for their Global Masters in Management program and Rice University for their MBA (non-STEM) program. Rice is also offering me a substantial scholarship as a Forté fellow. I am confused regarding which program to choose considering the job scenario after graduation since I will have to pay off an education loan (USA will offer a 1-year OPT period, and UK will offer 2 years). Currently, I have a year of work experience as a digital marketer in India and aim to be in strategy/management consulting after graduation. Which prog
  3. Hi! So I am still in search of reputed master programmes that prepare strong candidates for future Ph.D. application in the U.S. I want to specialize in clinical child psychology/ developmental neuropsychology. Thoughts? (I am quite desperate and open to new ideas, I appreciate any advice!) Many thanks!
  4. I'm about to start my PhD in Clinical Psychology in NYC at Yeshiva University (Ferkauf health emphasis program) and I'm a little worried about finances. I haven't heard back from the school about funding yet, but I'm under the impression they don't usually provide much funding. Since I'm not eligible for FAFSA, I'm wondering about other available funding opportunities for international students studying in New York (i.e. bursaries, fellowships, scholarships, loans, grants, etc.). I've looked into a few scholarships, but most of the deadlines have already passed. I will apply to these in the up
  5. I'm in the process of compiling a list of schools to apply to for in a few months to start in fall 2018. I am interested more in the information science side of things and would hope to pursue a career in user experience, information architecture, hci etc with a research focus. I am interested if anyone has applied or gone to mlis programs, especially in Canada with a similar background. So far I'm looking at U of T (for sure gonna apply) UBC (interested but not sure it would fit my focus) Do any of the of mlis programs in Canada fit this description?
  6. Hi there! I saw there was a Canadian thread started but not a US one so here goes! Applying a little more broadly this round (last year was Clinical + Counseling psych, this year I'm doing Counseling Psych PhDs, MPH, MSW, and one combo MSW/PhD program), and I'd really appreciate some insight on my odds for MPH! The good: 3.986 GPA undergrad Honors College Membership contingent upon maintaining 3.2 all semesters; extra classes required for graduation Chancellor's Scholarship undergrad - contingent upon maintaining 3.5, full ride to (public) uni Dean's List at summa cum la
  7. Hello everyone, I am an undergraduate student in Turkey and I am going to apply to Political Science Ph.D programs for the 2017 cycle. My research areas are contemporary political theory, comparative neoliberalism(especially economic inequality), democratic theory, progressive era and new deal politics, pragmatist political theory(dewey, james). I have also been nominated as a Fulbright scholar. Which political theory programs should I apply to and how much does a fulbright scholarship improve chances of admission to top tier programs? My Toefl is 116(ibt), Gre is 165 Verbal, 164 Quant, 4
  8. Hello everyone! I am a journalist from India and have received acceptance letters from Emerson College in Boston and Villanova University, Pennsylvania. Expecting a few more responses. But, I want to choose from these two institutions. The course at Villanova is Masters in Communication and at Emerson it is Masters in Communication Management with a specialization in Political Communication. At Villanova, I can study the same subjects as Emerson. If anybody could help, I'll really appreciate it!
