  1. I submitted my application back at the early deadline and it was confirmed that all of my supporting materials and fees had come in a couple of weeks later, but I still haven’t heard anything? I applied to the gerontology concentration and they told me it’d only be about 2 to 3 weeks to hear back about a decision, but my admissions status is still listed as pending. I’ve tried to get in contact with someone to no avail lol. So it’d be nice to hear about how long you had to wait! Also, if you have estimates for how long it took to hear back from Georgia State, that’s good too!
  2. Hello~ Anyone else been accepted by UGA's Anthropology? I would like to connect myself to other prospective classmates if who's there received admission from Georgia. Take care!
  3. Hello all, Since I'm a pretty logical and practical person, I've been trying to come up with backup plans in case I don't get into a program due to my less-than-stellar undergraduate record. In the event that I do not get accepted, I have been knocking around the idea of applying to University of Georgia's Post-Bacc program and wanted to know if anyone has had experience in this program? Not just the application process, but how the program is set up, the difficulty level of the classes, etc. Thanks in advance!
  4. Hi, everyone. I just wanted to know what the GRE scores of people who were accepted into programs such as University of South Carolina (ONLINE), Eastern New Mexico(HYBRID), University of Georgia, and University of West Georgia. My stats: 153 V (60th percentile), 4.0 AWA,,and 144 Q; Overall GPA 3.67; last semester GPA 4.05; CSDCAS CSD ;GPA 3.67. The GRE scores you see above are from taking it twice. I have leadership experience as a NSSHLA officer, working with students who have autism, and also observation hours in different settings. This will be my 2nd time applying, and I am just really nervous because at first I was placed on the wait list at my alma mater, but they didn't use it this year. So, I'm going to reapply. However, I want to show the committee that I really tried to improve and gain more exposure to the field. I'm looking at more programs this time around and trying to get a realistic idea of if I have a chance of getting in somewhere. I'm noticing that some schools say they require a certain GRE/GPA range on their website and ASHA Edfind but then I see people in the results forum with stats way below it getting accepted. I'm happy for them. I just want to know how that works. I already signed up to take the GRE again just to see if I could increase my verbal score to 160 and AWA to 5.0 even though others have told me that I should just focus on getting more outside experience at this point. This would be the last time that I take it because I don't want to keep stressing on the GRE as if it's the only component of my application. Any tips? Thanks in advance!
  5. Hello. I'm an applicant, and I just have a few questions about the wait list process/ odds at the following schools seeing that there is an April 15th deadline for applicants to accept/ decline. Thanks in advance. 1) Is anyone on the wait list at the following schools? *Georgia State University * University of West Georgia *University of Georgia 2) When do you think applicants will hear back ( I know there's the "After April 15th" memo, but does that mean around the ending of April, May, June, ,etc? Lol ? 3) Is there anyone who was accepted to these programs but decided to decline? 4) Also, what are the odds of being accepted off of the wait list?
  6. I have applied for 17 spring statistics. Now, I have received 3 ads, AMS of stony brook (statistics track), stat of University of Georgia and stat of George Washington University. And I'm still waiting for stat of Lehigh University. I have no plan to apply for PHD and just wanna find a job. Which one should I attend? Please give me some advice and reasons.
  7. Hello, Hoping to hear from anyone who attends or knows about the Biostatistics program at the University of Florida. I understand they are only 6 years old or so? How competitive is their admissions at this point? Does anyone know if they offer funding for MS students? Any opinions on the overall quality of the program in general? I'm looking at other Biostats programs in the Southeast including FSU, SC, MUSC, UGA. Would I be correct in presuming that UF is the strongest and most competitive Biostat program among these? How does it compare to FSU? I'll be graduating with a BS in Math and Stats from a decent state school in the Southeast with probably ~3.7 GPA, significant statistics research that encompassed applied statistics as well as some more theoretical areas of survival analysis and bayesian methods, and solid LORs including a UF Statistics alumni. Would such a profile be competitive for an MS in Biostats at UF?
  8. Has anyone heard back from UGA yet? I only know of one who has (which is listed on the results page) and I'm sure more than three people have applied to the program. My application was complete January 27 and I still haven't heard anything. I'm getting really impatient. I had to put my life on hold (finding housing and all that) until I find out, so I'm really anxious. So... anyone?
