  1. Finally I'm going to make choice between MA in Emerging Media Studies in Boston University and MS in Digital Social Media in USC. I'm a Chinese student with a BA degree in Communication, and this is my first time to go study abroad. If anyone knows anything about the universities, the programs, and their graduate outcomes, I'd really appreciate it if you can leave some comments and suggestions to me. Thanks so much!
  2. The University of Southern California or Virginia Tech, which is better for M.S. in mechanical?
  3. I plan to do my masters in Mechanical Engineering and the area of concentration which I have chosen is Fluid and Thermal Sciences. I have admits from NCSU (for Fall 2018) and from USC (for Spring 2019). Which one shall I go for and why?
  4. First post: Just found out about this website and would love some help. I am deciding between 3 school for Biomedical Sciences PhD. The university of Colorado @ Denver, the University of Arizona and the University of Southern California. Anyone have thoughts on these three schools? I am looking to go into academia if that helps. I felt that Denver was very industry focused from my interview weekend at least. So I am concerned that is not going to get me the secondary skills necessary for academia. But I really do not know. Any advice? Thanks!
  5. Hey all! I just joined GradCafe, and I am so stoked but also nervous about the fact that applying for grad schools is just around the corner. Right now I am feeling so nervous because I know my credentials are not where they need to be. I'm graduating early in December, but since most grad schools don't do spring start and heading straight to grad school with no break would be INSANE, I am planning on finishing out my lease here. Then I'll be applying for summer and fall start dates at multiple schools. I have a few school ideas, which I'll state down below. I plan to earn a Masters in Social
  6. Hey all, I am currently working as a case manager in Lansing. I want to get my MSW soon. Once I have my degree I will move to/work in downtown LA (my long-distance boyfriend is moving there in 2020. We've been dating for 6 years, long distance for 3). Where do I go and when? I am choosing between MSU and USC (MSU because I have family in Lansing, USC because it's cheaper than UCLA, easier to get into than Cal State) Other facts: I have enough savings to pay for both options, which means I probably won't get financial aid. I'm bilingual, so according to USC admissions, I'm likely to g
  7. Hey guys, I just received an acceptance to USC's MSW program for fall 2017 at their main campus (University Park). My concentration will be in children and family and I was wondering if anyone else on here will be attending as well, or has attended and can give me a little bit of info on the program!
  8. Does anyone know what the acceptance rate for the part-time MSW program at USC is? I am applying to the online program, but I was told that the part time program is less competitive and the minimum GPA requirement is a 2.5. Has anyone had experience with this and know what the chances are for someone with less than a 3.0, for the part-time program?
