  1. Hi all! I'm currently deciding between two schools - one in my ideal location and the other in a less than ideal location, but more ideal for my bank account. I'm leaning towards accepting a spot at the University of Utah but I have some questions about tuition and graduate assistantships that I haven't been able to find answers to online. Are there any current graduate students at U of U that can provide some answers? Does U of U offer a lot of GA positions? Are they full/half/quarter semester positions? How much is tuition really - I've been seeing various numbers? Thanks!
  2. Hi everyone, I’m a PhD candidate for 2019 Fall. I received 2 offers, from Penn State (Hershey college of medicine), Biomedical Sciences, and University of Utah, Molecular Biology . I feel they have similar program settings (similar stipend, and both schools require about 5.5 years to graduate, 3 rotations, etc.) so I really can’t decide now 🤯. Can I get some suggestions from you guys? Thank you so much!
  3. Now that announcements have been made, it's down to figuring out where to go! I've been accepted into the SLP masters programs at UW Seattle, Western Washington, Utah, and UC-Boulder. And while getting so many acceptances is wonderful, it's both a blessing and curse... Is there anyone out there that is attending these programs? I'm a current post-bac at UW so I have a little idea of what the department is like, but I would be so appreciative if anyone has any insight into the clinical experience, academic workload, life living in those cities, etcetera. Thank you in advance!
  4. Hey guys, So, I received a direct PhD in Computer Science Admit from the University of Utah, and I had a few queries regarding the program I was wondering if there was someone here who could help me with the same and answer my queries Thanks

    AuD costs

I am applying to 4 AuD programs. Cost is a huge influence for me, and so I have been calculating all the costs for the different programs. This has been challenging since every school has a different way of breaking tuition down, and I am finding some to be much more clear than others! Is there anyone else out there that is doing this for these schools and could verify I did this right? Any advice is greatly appreciated! Also, I am calculating resident costs, since I am applying to schools only on the Western Exchange Program (since I am from Colorado). The schools I am applying to are: U
  6. Hi! I have recently been accepted to the speech language pathology masters program at the University of Utah. I am very interested in attending, however I want to know more about the environment at the school. Are most students in the masters program from in state? I will be coming from Kentucky, so it'll be a big change. What do people do for fun? What's life like in Salt Lake? I want to make sure I'll fit in. Is anyone in this specific cohort? I'd love to chat!
  7. Hey guys, has anyone heard back from University of Utah as yet? I see only a couple of responses on the results page. Also, I would like to know what the opinion of this school is within the US. I am an international, and a lot of the time have to gauge reputation by various rankings.
  8. Hey there! I'm a sophomore right now and am hoping to apply for a couple of programs, but the one I've got my heart set on is the University of Utah Creative Writing PhD. program--or, if I don't get into that one as an undergrad, then their MFA in Creative Writing program. What are the admissions like for this program? What could I be doing now to make it more likely that I could get in?
  9. Hi there! I'm moving from Portland, Oregon to SLC, Utah to attend the graduate program for speech language pathology at the U! I am looking for anyone else who has accepted the offer and will be in my cohort. I'd love to get to know some people before making the move and to make some connections. Please respond if this is you, and maybe we can take to making a Facebook group for those of us attending this fall! Congrats!
  10. Hi fellow grad cafe users! I have a bit of a difficult decision coming up as to whether attend University of Utah or remain at my current program. Unfortunately I know very little about the psych program there or even Salt Lake City in general. I'm hoping some people can shed some light on it and give me their experiences of attending or living near there. In particular, I am concerned about the match between my current research and other graduate students/faculty. I study ingroup-outgroup processes and am very much focused towards continuing this line of interest. U of U seems to be
