  1. Hey all! I am applying for the MASc in Systems Design and Engineering at University of Waterloo for the next winter semester (January 2022). The application deadline is the 31st of May, 2021. Now, I have a couple questions about the proof of English language proficiency. I have graduated from an institute where the language of instruction was English and it states so on the transcript (but English is not the native language in my country). On the University of Waterloo website, it's mentioned that a medium of instruction certificate from the graduating institute will not suffice. How
  2. Hello! I have applied to both UW and York for BSW, but I'm currently doing a pros and cons list of whether I should wait for UW's response for my application (comes our mid June). I have already been accepted to York, but the deadline to accept the offer is early May. I'm at a lost- I graduated with a BA in UW so I would definitely be more comfortable going back, but since I have applied to part time, UW will take 3 or less years to complete while York is 2 (with a chance to lessen based on the transfer credits). Any thoughts on which school might give a better overall experi
  3. Anxiously awaiting a decision from the University of Waterloo for an MSc in Geography (thesis-based). I've been in contact with a potential supervisor prior to and after completing my application. The professor said he approved my application and was waiting for more levels of approval before a decision could be sent out. I followed up with him again yesterday and he replied saying not to worry as it was likely my application was stalled due to the hectic nature of the admissions season. Does anyone think there is a good chance I'll be accepted based off this?
  4. I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask but I just thought i would give it a try.. I am an international student from university of Waterloo in Environment and Business(Honors degree) with Econ as minor. I'm in my 3B term with an overall average of 88 and I am interested in Mcmaster's globalization and economic policy(master's program) or Waterloo's global governance. I heard they are very selective when it comes to international students so I was just wondering if I get any chance? I would really appreciate if any international students can share their experience with me.
  5. Now that the application deadlines are over, thought I'd start a thread for people who are hoping to join UWaterloo in Fall 2019. I have applied for PhD in Environmental Engineering. Please post the degree and the area of study you have applied to. We can use this thread to discuss the status of the applications and share our anxieties. Thank you.
  6. I just found out that I got into the University of Waterloo for a Master's in Earth Science! I know it's a phenomenal school and it's doing ground-breaking research in my field (groundwater). I'm from Memphis TN, but am a Canadian citizen and spent my summers there growing up. However, I'm getting the nagging sensation that I'm always missing something. For example, my POI at Waterloo seemed put off by the fact that I didn't already know that a MSc degree there only requires 4 classes in addition to research, and little help was offered when I asked for it to navigate the funding sources. I w
  7. Hi everyone, I was just wondering if anyone could tell me about the University of Waterloo's Chemical Engineering master's program or the school in general. Thanks!
  8. Hi all - hope you're well! I'm starting my grad school applications now and something that matters to me is housing - especially in the cases of campuses that aren't in cities with other schools closeby. I will definitely be applying to the Master's of Global Governance (MAGG) at Balsillie, a two-year degree offered by the University of Waterloo and may end up applying for the Master's of International Public Policy MIPP (MIPP), the one-year degree offered by Laurier. My question is whether or not on-campus graduate housing at Waterloo and Laurier, respectively is open to students a
  9. Hi all, I just joined U Waterloo for a Phd in Mathematics, I plan to live off campus and drive to the school everyday, I'm moving to waterloo next week. Does anyone know which is the best driving school in/around Waterloo ? (and cheap considering grad school scholarship :-) )
