Hi Everyone, I just wanted to start a forum on those waiting for admission to Fall 2018 University of Michigan School of Information Master's program! Here is a space for you to discuss your worries, get information from others applying, and ask about acceptances/denials. We're all in the same boat! UMSI '18!!

hi everyone so I applied to Pratt's IXD program but wanted to learn more details while I wait for a response. for those of you currently studying it / alumni: How much has it prepared you for a career in UX? What did it lack? Is it mostly design or more scientific? (i.e. are you working with programs like Axure and Sketch, or other things) has pratt given you good industry connections? i don't have a background in ux, but I've done light web design and coding. I know UX would be a lot more involved, but I'm drawn to it. i'm open to hearing anything else you want to share about the program thanks!

Hi everyone! I decided to create a topic for human factors applicants since there doesn't seem to be one for our niche. Here are some potential discussions: What schools are you applying to? What are your research interests? Do you plan on going into government, industry, or academia? Do you have any updates from your program or POI? How are you feeling with your application? What are you worried about? What do you have to brag about? How did you pick the programs you're applying to? Are you going to the annual HFES meeting in Seattle? We're outnumbered compared to almost (probably) all psychological fields so lets create a place to exchange helpful information. Personally, I am applying to only the human factors program at Wichita State this cycle. I currently work in one of the research labs at Wichita State so if I do not get accepted I will just continue to gain research experience the next year and publish my manuscript.
